I swear I've heard that little chord riff that plays around the start (After the first 2 bars) from another foo fighter song. But like which one?!? Does anyone else hear it?

Edit* It reminded me of the chord riff that plays in Breakout when he starts screaming. Not sure if it's the same or not.

Taylor has described this song as "what Breakout should've sounded like". They just straight up used the riff from Breakout.

Love KJ and Dave is a big fan but this always reminded me of Husker Du. Very Bob Mould sounding guitar.

Very misleading Mr. Grohl, putting this song halfway through the CD haha.

He had a hard time talking about Kurt and didnt want to anymore, in the first while after he died he didnt even want to answer any interviews about him. It is true though he hasnt written any more songs about him, even though the song "let it die" ,which is one of my favorites, made it sound like it was about him, he's never said it was and had a bad feeling when he published that song.

What is wrong with the world? I search "The Last Song" in youtube and find only pop-rock and some crappy film. I had to actually put "foo fighters" at the end to find this. Shocking!

@MurlocAintGood "The Last Song" is actually the title of the book after which the movie was made, after which the song was named. If anyone's ripping off, then it's the author of the book, but this title is so generic that I wouldn't really call it that.
It's like anything containing the word "Twilight" isn't a ripoff - it's WEATHER.

@CinematicXplosions this and friend of a friend Dave had admitted to being about Kurt. This is the last song was his way of saying enough is enough and it is time to move on.

This definitely should've been a single. One of their catchiest ever songs, and I love the vocal interplay with Dave, Chris, and Taylor, which I wish we'd get more often (we sort of do on Word Forward). It's just strange how some great songs never end up as singles.

I couldn't believe back in 2005 they didn't use this one as follow up single to Best of You... and songs like the mediocre No Way Back or DOA made it to a single... this is so catchy and powerful, love the vocal production in the chorus, it was because of this song (blew me away) that i bought in your honor, and of course bc of best of you... oh just imagine what would have happened if they released it as a single
