Foo Fighters - New Way Home Lyrics
Have you found
Your way around
The down and out?
I know it must seem long so long
To keep this time
From running out
Head down
Always moving on
And on and on
I've never heard this warning
Another early morning
Takes me
Wakes me into
I'll try to manage you
But lately it's all I ever do
I felt like this on my way home
I'm not scared
I passed the bolts and locking doors
I'm not scared
I'll never tell you the secret I'm holding
I know these things must bore you
I can't find another way
I'll never tell you the secrets I'm holding
I love this leash that holds me
When I try to run away
I felt like this on my way home
I'm not scared
I pass the boats in the kingdom
I'm not scared

Foo Fighters New Way Home Comments
Really bad.
Listen to Devo "gut feeling". after hearing this song. Thank me later.
How I used to feel commuting home on I-5...
I didn't know this song was so awesome!
This gives me goosebumps! What a f**king buildup 🤘🏻
My favorite Foo Fighters song
standout track the middle section is great, so are the opening chords
This song came to my head when I go back to my home city.
Best workout song by far
love this song
Killer album! Can't believe this is the first time I've ever listened to it all the way through! In my opinion this is their best one
Extremely underrated
I don't think I've never seen a foo fighters song's comment section where people don't say that that song is underrated.
omg, plz keep going. I'm bored and this shit cracks me up!
My favorite song of this album
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AEn-njmmdvg :)
I´m not scared , I´m on my way hooohome
Rock on!!
If I'm driving while hearing this song, by the time the buildup ends and Dave starts to blow his lungs out in last chorus, it's certain that a new speed ticket will find his way into my home. This part of the song makes me just floor it.
When the cop comes to your window, be sure to yell "I'M NOT SCARED!!!!" In his face.
The ebenflow of this song is awesome. God/Jesus save and bless all that read this. Who know a song could take you so many places
ebenflow ?

the colors and the shape
Sweet memories of Daria Morgendorffer...
nooiice
TBH almost every single fucking Foo Fighters song is underrated
the buildup. that goddamn build up man. it's phenomenal
OmegaDouble 7 Come alive also has a monumental build up imo
i prefer this one though
@OmegaDouble 7 And that's what's great about personal subjective opinions, they're all different 🙂
Saw them live at a club in Philadelphia right after this album came out and New Way Home was the closing number. That build-up at the end was insane! The whole club just erupted...get goosebumps just thinking about it :-)
its like an orgasm you wait and wait and then it comes...
The outro gives me the chills!
Ure damn right man!!bone chilling outro there..
this song kicks the most famous ff songs in the face, on my opinion!
It could probably kick Chuck Norris in the face if I do say so myself.
The buildup. The fucking buildup.
+mac cavanah IM NOT SCARRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDD
+mac cavanah you're right it is powerful, it is GREAT!
@***** Sorry I offended you, buddy. :p
+mac cavanah The Foo Fighters special.
4:00 Oh man
Great song
MOST UNDERRATED SONG IN ROCK HISTORY PERIOD.
The album starts with Dave being scared and ends with him not being scared. Pretty cool.
I never think about this, wow!!
ross raguse He didn't kill himself he was murdered, but I guess idiots like you buy the official line all the time !
@ross raguse he was MURDERED you fucking idiot. You don't get to judge him
@Matt Evans by whom?
I use "i'm not scared, I felt like this on my way home" as a mantra when I'm alone and nervous in the dark :)
2:03 - 3:58
long build up
Good point.... I love the coda but not a lot of tunes have the setup the way Dave does. His minimalistic style is brilliant in it's execution. Then the finish.... ahh.!
Thank you for saying that it's a good point...
I love it, then it hits.
long but worth it
Pat's era! Grrrreat!
Enrico Mazzone Pat Smear !
DEVO -Gut Feeling riff.
Heard it on radio years ago and have spent ages trying to find out what it was - just found out, seems like you're the only one who called out the Gut Feeling connection on the internet that I've found. Nice work!
New Wave Home.
Unbelievable song. Most underrated Foo song in my opinion.
@Matthew Crockford everlong, x-tatic
@Matthew Crockford btw we are talking in a 4 years old thread, just to let you know

Hey Johnny Park
Halo for sure
I remember being newly single after a 12 year marriage. Driving home after a party at 5:00 in the morning and listening to this kick ass tune. Another early morning takes me, wakes me in two.
I never new he was saying "pass boats and the Kingdome". I saw the last Mariner game at the Kingdome
I felt in love again... with this song.
You will die without the answer. We will all die without the fucking answer! :D

this question is impossible to answer: what is the most underrated foo fighters song?
Wattershed!
My favourite foo fighters song
Best build up EVER
The build, and then the climax, love it.
Very true but in my opinion I think wasting light is about his whole life and Dave himself said it in back and forth.Just saying.
google image search "sleeping bear dunes" while lisening to this song.
i was istening to this song when driving on my way to my vacation and we were driving beside lake huron (Michigan) and to me its fits perfectly while stareing at any beautifull lake or ocean. when in real life looking at the world's wonders and how beautifull it is while listening to this is perfect.
Colour and Shape is definitely the best FF album from a great period of music.
I prefer There is Nothing Left to Lose, but this is pretty good too
Incredibly underrated song!!!
Though I love this song, the chord progression in the verses is a rip off of Rush's Red Barchetta.
I knew it sounded familiar.
This song brilliantly displays Grohl's heavy influence by Paul McCartney. Up to the very end of the song you could almost hear McCartney having written a song like this during his Wings days. And I agree with everyone else that says this song is highly underrated.
Always wished they had made a video to this song!
Totally agree!
I love how some FF songs start off so slow and genteel, then nearer the end of the track you find yourself headbanging and jumping around the room :D
so fuckin true
dude, the build up is pretty much the whole point of the song....
If you listen to everlong you may notice that the build up of this song has the same build up. it starts pretty normal and then it tones down and then build up to an awesome outro and allmost all of foo fighters songs are build ups and ends with good outro's and thats what i like about them. :)
I totally agree with you! :D
hey,he screamed !!
Everyone has an opinion, most of it smells like shit though.
For me this song ends at 2:03. It's a good song but I think it would have been better if the Foos stuck with the first 2:03 of the song and kept the song going at the same pace instead of stopping and then the long build up. Just my opinion though...
for the record i was too harsh with the pop comment, i didnt mean that, (had a smoke)
i just meant slightly pop-ier than the early stuff, i wouldnt listen to pop either mate. and i fukkin love the Foo's
i agree..............what a pleasant disagreement :D
One of my favorite FF songs. That build up is Epic!
should've clarified, I wouldnt enjoy anything "Pop-ie", and I haven't noticed any change in their style at all.
Agree to disagree I guess
this album is my fav,and mate im not saying that the songs that won the grammy dont deserve to,
im just sayin the Foo's are slightly pop-ier than the earlier stuff.
all down to preference what your favs are, no right or wrong.
I dont think I will admit that to tell you the truth. Their album One by One was their best album in my opinion, and didn't they just recently win the grammy for best Hard Rock Single? Y'know pop music even in the slightest doesn't win that.
im not trolling just so you know, but you must admit recently the foos are slightly pop-ier. dont get me wrong grohl is a fukkin genius, best front man thats ever lived as far as im concerned.
FINALLY! A foo Fighters track that fades out at the end! I thought they didnt exist.
went POP? That never happened. Give your head a shake.
the Foo's before they went POP :'(
This was the sound of a man fighting like hell to keep his marriage intact, failing at it, and working up his courage to accept it and that reckoning that comes with that failure. It's heartbreaking catharsis.
Wow, until U said dat, I didn't think ta put da lyrics togetha of both song, but dats extremely observant! Awesome! Someone Could actually edit da 2 songs togetha if they wanted
Agreed. "Walk" sounds like a "part 2" of this song...musically and lyrically.
It's kinda awesome dat their Newer song "Walk" kinda sounds like da beginning of dis song!
Then I recommend that you don't listen to their song "The Colour and the Shape". For the sake of humanity dear god do not listen to that song.
at 2:00 i think this song has THE BEST build up of ANY song i've heard! I get tingly all over my body.
im not afraid.
@MediaFilter
After listening to this song, those days are today.
@MrBellender I went through probably four copies of this album by 2004 alone.
Siento que este es mi nuevo camino a casa... Y ya no tengo miedo.
Foo is still good but damn they were awesome back then. You could play Colour and Shape the whole way through. I wore this cd the fuck out!
this song is epic i love it!

Long life FF¡¡¡¡ I just can't stop singing and jumping
@xhkpw I wouldn't every time I use a song to wake up to I hate it because it woke me up
I just wake up in the morning..and i was singing it >>and i remembered that i did n`t hit the like button 3 years ago >>sorry foo fighters
Best Song EVAR!! :DDD
@Hermes177 of course, it has integrity, each songs tells a story of love, heartbreak, insecurity and anger, and then theres this monster to finish it all off. Doll starts with the line 'I've never been so scared', and it ends with the 'I'm not scared' coda. so this record is about life, and how now matter what pain you go through you'll make it through and you have nothing to fear. grohl's masterpiece.
@Hermes177
Arguably there best album for sure. I know it's my favorite FF album.
This is dedicated to my brother, he knows who he is!!!
i hope so
0:01-0:03 is like of the outro guitar of Walk.....
ahhhhhhhh
rock and grohl is from the planet foo,the best music in space or any planet!!
