Foo Fighters - Dirty Water Lyrics
I've been drinking dirty water
But I've been here before, after all
The witching hour is upon us
So you and I can sing haunted songs
And then I tumble down, rung by rung
And I keep on falling faster
The heart is echoing, on and on
On and on
I feel an earthquake coming on
I feel the metal in my bones
'Cause I'm a natural disaster
You're the morning after all my storms
Standing in the sun, row by row
I've been drinking dirty water
The taste of sweet revenge, best served cold
All we know
I feel an earthquake coming on
I feel the metal in my bones
I'm a natural disaster
And you're the morning after all my storms
Bleed dirty water
Breathe dirty sky
Bleed dirty water
Breathe dirty sky
Bleed dirty water
Breathe dirty sky
Bleed dirty water
Breathe dirty sky
Bleed dirty water
Breathe dirty sky
Bleed dirty water
Breathe dirty sky
I feel an earthquake coming on
I feel the metal in my bones
'Cause I'm a natural disaster
Dirty water in my blood
I feel a moment coming on
Heavy metal in my bones
'Cause I'm a natural disaster
You're the morning after all my storms

Foo Fighters Dirty Water Comments
Foo and inara together. Awesome.
2:47Holy shit👌
Tha's that Diiirty.
This song is all nice and quiet and then GUITARS. Criminally underrated song. One of my favorites from the new album.
Esta canción me recuerda demasiado a déjà vu de Gustavo Cerati. Espero no ser la única.
Uma das melhores músicas. Completinha.
Just lit the joint 💨
Saw them perform this at Cal Jam ‘17
The song would have been better without the heavy bit at the end, I dunno it didn't seem necessary. Just my thoughts!
Flouride

This song rocks it...Foo Fighters Rock it !!!!
God damn I love this song! That breakdown near the end... oh my.
I NEED to get this Album it’s genius

Anyone know what guitar effect Dave Grohl is using on his guitar during the chorus? Sounds like a Phase 90 type thing?
This song is an instant Foo’s classic. Bee Gee-esque harmonies and heavy rock with Dave’s voice and it all climaxes at 4:19 - just awesome 🤘
They played this last night at the garden. Was an awesome show!
masterpiece.
This has to be about geoegineering and weather modification...
Everyone in the area I live in got a community alert message telling people not to drink tap water in the area due to an algae bloom in the local reservoir, ironically this was what I was listening to when I got the message
I’m in love with this song
Hearing this song live was out of this world.
Bucket list to see them live!
Yeah you bet it was.
I was at the Australian concert and it was the best thing ever.
Agree worth every penny
oh hi, bend a patch cucumber bound
I bet it was, hopefully it'll be in the setlist in October's concert in Colombia
Saw y’all in concert in Austin. Simply amazing
So is Dave also Wolverine? Wait, is he both Wolverine AND Jesus now? Come on, man, there's only so much awesomeness we can take...
i feel it.
hey i love you guys!
Heard this at hot topic and phisicaly stopped and instintly loved it!!!
"physically'
"instantly"
Sorry but I can't help myself.
Also, "kitties".
Ms Debiann1957 Your name reminds me of Debian Linux. I used to use it. Lol. Sorry.
Make it another hit single.
Blast off @ 2:43
this has to be my new favorite song noe
Should have named this song "My WEENer"
It's got a bit of a Red Hot Chili Peppers feel to it. I like that.
Whenever I listen to this song, I imagine a small town that finds "Dirty" water that slowly drives everybody that drinks it crazy. At first they think the miracle water is a god send. There is no savior that tells people and nobody realizes it. Eventually, people worship it and make altars as they fade more and more into insanity. Then, The town just succumbs to the insanity and kill each other in one huge gory beautiful mess until there is nothing left but "Dirty" water.
Write up the video treatment and send it to them!
Reminds me of Marigold.
reminds me of the early 90s and also has a 70s vibe to it
Mix of 1970s music and modern, done in the best way possible! One song fro, this album has to go into ytrw2k17
I root for the natural disasters
Foo Fighters kick ASS!!!!!!!
I love you foo fighters

*morning
Here for Inara George
Great flanging effects :)
I love you
The base line when the get done with the first part breaks into something amazing with the octaves. Best song so far listening through for the first time.
Anyone who says that Foo Fighters suck has never listened to real music.
I agree. The fact that Dave went from playing drums in Nirvana to singing and playing guitars just proves how talented he is. The rest of the band is very talented too.
EXCACTLY
When it starts getting heavy tho. Any prog fan realize that sounds like Neal Morse?
Makes me wanna roll a doobie...
Climate change I think.
THIS SONG STARTS OFF SLOW BUT THEN IT REALLY KICKS INTO OVERDRIVE :)
THIS IS WHY WE LOVE THE FOO FIGHTERS IN THE FIRST PLACE, THEY REALLY KNOW HOW TO WRITE GOOD ROCK SONGS WITH MELODY AND THEN WITH LOUD DISTORTED ELECTRIC GUITARS AND VERY CLEVER INTELLIGENT LYRICS THAT MAKE SENSE MUSICALLY AND SONICALLY, CONCRETE AND GOLD IS BY FAR SOME OF THE BEST STUFF THIS BAND HAS MADE IN A LONG TIME BESIDES THEIR OTHER WONDERFUL ALBUMS.
DIRTY WATER ROCKS HARD BUT SOUNDS GOOD ON THE RADIO TOO.
This song starts out sitting on a cool beach watching the surfers ride the waves and the ladies walking by. THEN IT TURNS INTO LIVING FIRE AND ENDS ON A HEAVENLY SOAR. It's so beautiful
David CM Yes it is !
I really love this song, the melody at the start of the song and then the explosive part at 2:43
2:42 MY FAVOURITE PART!!!
Beautiful
This album has been out for 1 month already. Time goes by so fucking fast with amazing music
2 months now. Still as awesome.
1 year now still awesome
Year 2776. It's still awesome!
This feels like it could've been on The Colour and Shape album...
Pink Floyd - Eclipse
anyone else hear a little bit of stone temple pilots
STRANGELY ENOUGH
THE STONE TEMPLE PILOTS HAD AN ALBUM CALLED SHANGRAI LA DEE DA
IN 2001 AND NOW THE FOO FIGHTERS HAVE A SONG CALLED LA DEE DA IN 2017 :) ISNT THAT INTERESTING??
I can hear a little bit of STP at the end.
You can really hear Dave's fascination with The Bird and the Bee in this song....
I really dig this tune!!! Its, clean, its dirty, its huge, its just got a thick sound to it. Very well produced I see why he chose Greg Kurstin.
Is dirty water heroine?
What a gem of a song...multilayered...good vibe beat....heavy strong finale. This the best track on an outstanding creative tour de force od an album. CONGRATS FOO this one is hard to argue with.
This album was just to stable and shiny
For some reason this song really makes me think of Queens of the Stone Age.
This one struck me particularly strong as being Beatles-esque. Reminds me of George Harrison's 'Isn't It A Pity'---same key too!
Indeed, it is very similar overall. I would say almost too much...
The song kind of sounds like 70's music
Best song of the album!
Sounds like their first album. I love it.
Foo Fighters has always experimented with different sounds and playstyles, even song progression. To say that they need to make music like they used to is to ask for a band that isnt foo fighters.
This song is incredible
Love that Dirty Water!
holy shit man this is great! it has a feel of the bird and the bee but keeping foo fighters groove...totally unexplainable and amazing
I'm obsessed with this song!
does anyone else think it kind of sounds like ghosts without the vocals though
Listen to this song and then listen to Polkadot Cadaver-Chloroform Girl. You'll thank me later.
This song peeks my interest in everything I love about music. SOLID instrumental. Great transitions. FANTASTIC build up. "Story telling" type of lyrics. Group singing. Straight up AROUSES me. I can't EMPHASIZE enough how GREAT this SONG IS.
P
Foo-rection!!!!!!
I'm SORRY I Can't CONTROL the VOLUME OF my VOICE
02:43 💜
Love the 2 halves of this song and the build towards the outro. The subtle harshness Dave introduces as the song progresses is just breath taking
