Guess I'm in the minority here. Not really overly impressed with anything off this cd. Don't like the overproducced sound or the burried vocals. Maybe after a few listens. But not a good sign when I'm skipping songs b4 they are done bcuz I'm bored.

I don't mind that it's an album of songs that seem so different from each other. A little bit of everything for everyone, seeing what works. Who knows, maybe this album could be looking for what direction to take next.

I feel that has less to do with the production (While I agree, the production here is absolutely suffocating the music), I think they reason we are both bored, is that these song are on average 3 minutes TOO LONG. Especially on tracks like 'The sky is a neighborhood' where they sing the chorus no less than 7 times, or 'Dirty Water', where it seems like they recorded two completely different version of the song, and decided to use them both. Regardless, Either someone new is writing the lyrics for these songs, or Dave is really just running out of things to say, which is understandable after writing songs for so long. It doesn't help that lyrical content has never really been an FF strong point.

I mean..... if it IS overproduced, you shouldn't be surprised. It WAS a pop producer that mixed the album after all. Same with the new QOTSA album

I think I literally know every word to every foo song, even the B sides and every beat and chord, I'm so pumped, been waiting all my life for it! I want to die saying I've seen everlong played live by Dave Ghrol! I want to take a sign asking them to play either White Limo or stacked actors, two of my fav heavy songs, pretty underrated so I doubt it'd be on their setlist.

Harry Pittman Yeah! Stacked Actors is a great one! The way they did at least one, maybe two shows I saw is that would go crazy, then do like an acoustic set, then go hard again. They had a stage with a walk out to the center with another stage. And they play forever! I always want them to play wattershed, alone + easy target, in your honor, or x static. They'll surprise you and pull some deep deep tracks

Sounds like one of the best experiences possible! I love the quieter simple stuff but the loud killer tracks are just made for the stage. This album has a good mix of songs that are both or that lean either way, and I know they'll play most of these songs and most of the greatest hits plus a couple more but there's like over 100 songs to play, I know it'll be one of the greatest days of my life.
