Folds, Ben - Stumblin' Home Winter Blues Lyrics
Goodbye, streetlight, goodnight
I'm sure that I'll be fine
Cuz daylight is breaking
My head is spinning me
Stumblin' Home Winter Blues
Sometimes I know I am wrong
Sometimes I know I am right
But lately I'm thinking
These streets are taking me
Stumblin' Home Winter Blues
Out of line
Incomplete
In between waking up
And going to sleep
Out of line
Wasting time
In between the morning light
And where I wanna be
But it takes time
Yours and mine
Goodbye, streetlight, goodnight
I'm sure that I'll be fine
I called from a payphone
You were still sleeping
Daylight is breaking
My head is spinning me
Stumblin' Home Winter Blues

Folds, Ben Stumblin' Home Winter Blues Comments
ben folds is really self-centered
+Alex Snyder How so?
+mynamesjudge I honestly can't remember lol I made that comment a long time ago I think I was frustrated with "Way to Normal" or something
just my humble opinion, I think darren jesses is the invisible soul of BF5, he IS the man.
Each version has its own flavor to it. The original is distinctly Hotel Lights. This version is distinctly a Ben Folds Five work. They're both pretty damn good and when the boxed set came out I was excited to see that they'd decided to do a BFF take on this one...
@snapperz716 well said
@DeathJake34 as much as i love B. folds, i kind of agree. i just don't think it outdoes the original. can't say this is bad at all though
@MrSm2400 people know how good Darren Jesse is but this is on Ben Folds The Best Imitation Of Myself lets credit Ben Folds Five as a whole and not publicize other bands...
@ndonolli In fact, the other new song 'Tell Me What I Did' was written by Robert Sledge when Ben Folds Five were still a group. However, I don't think they recorded it (I've only heard the a version of it). Robert took it to his new band, International Orange and they recorded it. So I now suppose we're going to get a more rounded sound from Ben Folds Five now as they are including Hotel Lights + International Orange material and style.
@mjiantor This is a Hotel Lights songs? I did not know that. Hopefully BFF will use more of Darren or Robert's songs more on this new album, as much as I love Fold's compositions. But Hotel Lights is great and I think it would translate great to BFF's sound.
In case nobody knows, this is originally a Hotel Lights song (Darren Jessee's band). I'm still digging it, and I hope that the time the band has spent apart leads to some interesting new material.
@settlestone couldn't agree more. it is wonderful. :)
ahh.. this reminds me of the last song on unauthorized.. nice. I really like it.
