Flotsam & Jetsam - P.A.A.B. Lyrics
Watch as the big man knocks off their blocks
Run up the ladder but not far enough
Cheat the numbers, watch the games get tough
They've done the dirty work, dressed for respect
Into deep, couldn't pay your way out
Double crossed, hot lead delivered
Politicians body floats dead in the river
Secret service, crimes highest court
Thompson bullet holes, shred into the suits
Under table oath, now in a pact
You'll get away with murder, when you're caught in the act
Holy rollers, contract blood baths
When fathers die they bleed their sons path
For the Father, in Gods name
Power brokers, black jack poker
Wearing piano wire chokers
The streets are scanned, the cops undermanned
Another city palm in hand
Shots ignited while sins cleanse in church
He sits by their sides as police sirens search
For his henchmen, they're getting away
Judges handshake, justice betrayed

Flotsam & Jetsam P.A.A.B. Comments
Flotzilla /,,/
Flotz is JUST AS INTENSE AS ANNY METAL BAND W THE BIGZ. BET IT ALL !!! this band kix dik right in the balls!!!
Newsted should rejoin. He has the POWER to take his old band TO THE TOP SHELF. FLOTZ TILL DEATH\m/😈
He couldn't even take his own band to the bottom rung of a ladder. I think Glitz are better off without him, especially with the current line-up and new album coming up.
Kicking Flotsom and Jetson
mosh until the bruises come off \\mm//
Right into my FLOTSAM & JETSAM playlist :-) ROCK ON!!!!!!!
This was the song that finally got me into Flots. My friend had been pushing them on me for a long time, and Led Zep me was having none of it. Until we were climbing RedRocks in Golden Colorado with a portable boom box on Shrooms. We found a small ledge settled in and this tune came on. I was pulled in when the guitars traded solos in such a symbiotic way, not cutting heads but promoting the song. It was for the music. From then I was hooked. I noticed that no other band really utilizes solos in the way Flotsam does, they describe and exemplify the meaning of the song. Bring it to a new level with music. Such as the solo in No Place, you are there witnessing the emotion and the soul leaving the body (so to speak) The solo describes the scene, accentuates the words and takes them to another level. Who else does this? Barely any at least not in this general genre.
I know Bill Metoyer, the sound engineer that mixed the first 2 Flots lp's.
Bullshit that they didn't get any insight from him on the remake.
Bill told me they were just supposes to remix and remaster the LP.
But stupid ass, dumb fucks at Electra lost the fucking masters!
Hence they had to remake the fucking album.
This re recording is totally bad ass!!!
Sounds pretty good, but I still think the original will always sound better. Much more raw and violent. Plus the bass is louder in the mix.
I really like their bass player Michael. Great energy.
BEAUTIFUL!
Yeah, it sounds wel produced but it's a tad too slow and the guitars are a lot less muddled which make the original way more raw and classic.
Is Jason back with the band?
I don't why there is any negativity on this. How is this any different then them performing the whole album live and recording it and putting it up for sale, except it's even better it's replay in better studio sound. Do I expect it to be better than the original? No, but it will be so awesome to hear each song replayed and how it comes out.
I'm down with redos...nothing wrong with revisiting old classics. Some bands don't even want to talk about their old stuff!
But why?? There's no need to re-record an album as this. It sounded perfect in the original recording and Erik's vocals ar just a pale shadow of what they used to be. This band has totally lost their sense!!
They wanted to just remaster and re-release it, but Elektra (or whomever owns the rights) didn't want to. So, second option... the original still exists, can be bought anywhere (even amazon mp3) so think of it as an addendum not a replacement.
THIS IS TOTAL SHIT
IF YOU WANNA HEAR GOOD MUSIC TRY SKRILLEX
U R WLCOME
@Roy Van Der Heiden FUCK YOU
LONG LIVE SKRILLEX
I don't like skrillex so, why i would listen to it
gr8 b8 m8
@Michael James Skrillex is god.
@Michael James you are going to hell
it is not antiik. real
e andiamo!
Much better than Ugly Noise...
Why? the album sounds good as it is. You should take your new albums and re-record them in a 80's analog studio.
Crazy, I give you best comment. The warmth is gone in todays music. Bands are trying to get it back. First it was to remaster, then it was remastered and enhanced. I say go analog and drag it to digital if need be. Bring the warmth back!
At the same time, I enjoy the new Album, the sound, pacing and feel is new as well, so it is like a different album all together. Might take people a who grew up with the original a few listens.
I am fine with the fact that they did it, from what I understand the original tracks were lost. I would probably have preferred a new album of new material, but I think this is something they had to do, to get it off their chest and create the new Line-up for the album coming out (hopefully) this year.
@***** You are barking at a tree when it is really the wind.
Good riff and solo
The intro is almost like Iron Maidens Hallowed Be Thy Name. Smells like a lawsuite :)
Then it must also sound like For Whom the Bell Tolls.
They'll be 30 years late .
Yeah, the production is good....but no one cares that they dropped the tempo so much that the song is now almost a full minute longer? This version just seems to drag compared to the original. I hope they didn't do this with the rest of the songs.
Unfortunately, rest of the songs are the same, slower.
@Eddie San
Ugh, really? Why would anyone think their fans would want that?
@MolaRam I guess slower songs mean more room for Eric's vocals.
Room? He sang on this tune the first around without a problem.
Hhhh cdfddhhgvhjh. Hujhkjjjjjj c. Y
This sounds good! Looking very much forward to own this. Perhaps a compilation of of tracks from the first three albums would have been nice but this is a classic album from start to finish with absolutely no filler.
Agreed. So why re-record it? The guitar doesn't sound half as good, imo.
@Terry Gardner
Fans have wanted them to re-release//remix No Place for years, the way they did Doomsday, but the original tapes were lost. So, they did this.
I use to love this album! Can't wait for this!!
Was a bit skeptical at first. I usually like the more dirty-sounding guitars and amps - the more "demo" something sounds the better. But I like this update to the song as well.
About the song:
Pros:
- Much easier to hear what's being sung.
- Cool with a new sound to this old record. Love the original CD.
- The "new" voice. I like the old one more, but it's nice hearing something a bit different than the old high-pitch Knutsson singing this.
Cons:
- Wah-wah solos?! Please, don't go Kirk Wah-Hammett on this whole record. Wah-wah usually kills most of the emotion and precision in guitar-playing.
- The tempo... A bit too slow, in my opinion.
All in all, this version stands out in a good way, and I hope you guys do well with this "remastered", or re-released, CD.
\m/ Rock on! \m/
killer stuff
Heavy & fast 👍 \m/
Fast? This is sluggish compared to the original version.
I was super skeptical (this is my favorite Flots album) but HOT DAMN, this sounds INCREDIBLE! Can't wait to hear the whole thing!
Brilliant, i can't wait for the full version of no place for disgrace. These guys need to record doomsday for the deceiver again that would be awesome!
No. This was their best album. Doomsday was their 2nd best. Both already sound great enough as they are with the great vocals of Erik. There's absolutely zero reason for this re-recording. Sure, it sounds good, but ofc since it's their best material ever... Now, if they made a NEW album like this, say No place for disgrace II, I would be crying tears of diamonds.
@MaximusAdonicus There's is no way that NPFD is better than Doomsday.
NPFD is f'n awesome and one of my fav. Thrash albums ever, but Doomsday was THE album for F&J.
Doomsday was sort of like the Kill 'em all for Flotz and NPFD was like the Master of puppets. Meaning, the first album was more rawer and punkier and the second more refined and thrashier. But to each his own ofc :)
@MaximusAdonicus
I'm with you dude \m/
Doomsday was remixed and remastered some years ago. It contains both new and old versions with bonus tracks and a DVD.
f**k dubsteps..... thrash rules
@Mega Rondel What's dubstep have to do with anything?
yeah...... tat old school thrashing.....never gonna get enough of it...\m/
Lord of the rings, second book
