I honestly can't tell which character the pov is, but I think it's either Jacob talking about his parents, Emma, the hollows and 'the Feeling', his grandfather, and all of peculiardom or its Emma talking to Abe. Which makes me sad, but like the lyrics make sense. The first verse I think is Jacob, but the chorus seems like Emma to Abe. Idk it's such an amazing song. Tells the story of the characters so well- agh been in love for yearsss.

it have been 3 years since I watched Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children , I listened the song and I’m still listening to it . It gives me peaceful feelings every time I listen to it .

I remember listening to this song after my first ever heartbreak in 2016.

My dad died on January 11th this year we watched this movie together and he loved this song (I’m 11 btw) and when I was 6 he recorded him saying “one day I’m not gonna be here anymore,I’m sick baby” and I said “daddy,I don’t want you to leave me,where will you go? Can I go with you?” And he laughed and we cried...I miss him so much...he died of a heart attack,kidney failure,heart failure,and Diabetes at age 43,one day I can see him again...😔

I've lost my grandmother, my grandfather and my aunt in 2008. Back then, I was just a kid and didn't quite understand the situation, but some years later I was diagnosed with depression, and one of the reasons why I felt so bad was because I didn't grieve "properly", it felt like " something broke and I wanted to go home, to be where they are". This song speaks to me in a personal level, the lyrics explains exactly how I feel about their losses. I feel better now but sometimes it's just like the song says " and I'm reaching out with every note I speak, and I hope it gets you in some pacific wind, braces itself around and spears in your ear, tells you that I miss you and I wish that you were here".

There was a boy I once knew that went by the name of Jay. He was a little British boy with a very creative mind. He was beautiful, light brown hair and deep blue eyes the colour of the ocean, they even sparkled like it. Every time I looked at him, I couldn't help but admire. And when we made eye contact, my heart fluttered. I always had to look away fast, because I was scared, scared that if I gazed too long, those ocean eyes would trap me inside and I'd never be free to walk among the shore. But I couldn't help it. I sunk deeper and deeper, I've been trying to find a way out since. We met at an acting camp located somewhere in Minneapolis, saint paul. The acting class we took was based upon this very film, Miss Peregrine's home for Peculiar Children. I remember when I first watched the film, I had become entranced by it. It was like an escape, and of course made by my all time favorite directer. It really made me start to want to pursue acting. And at that camp is where I met him. That little British boy with the half smile that could lighten up anyone's day. Sometimes it felt like he felt the some, but sometimes it didn't. I was scared, and still am. Love is a terrible game that I am no good at playing. It can be a blessing or a curse. It can be the greatest adventure, or the scariest nightmare. One that is very hard to wake up from. On the last day of camp, I gave my phone number to some of the friends I had made there, including him. But he never contacted me. At least, I never thought he did. Maybe he tried to call me but I mistook it for a false number and blocked him. To this day I'm not even sure. I have a new phone so I know I won't be getting any calls soon. But this silly part of me still hopes. This immature, childish part of me still believes. But I know he's forgotten me. I forgot him too. It wasn't until I watched this movie for the first time again that I remembered. This song thrusted me into the past and I remembered. Like remembering a strange dream, a bittersweet memory I'd rather have left forgotten. Because trust me it hurts. Some days I can forget, but for some god damn reason I can still feel him in my head. I can still see those ocean deep eyes. My mind wants to let go but my heart doesn't. Some days I just descend into madness. I'm obsessed with it, I'm envious of it. Sometimes I don't even know what I'm saying. I suppose I'm just tired. It just hurts to think that he's forgotten me. Because I very well know he has. Anyone would forget the black haired, brown eyed girl that rarely ever spoke. It hurts to think that he's probably found someone else. Not that I was ever a 'someone'. I bet she's beautiful, sunshine blonde hair and light eyes the colour of endless skies. I suppose it's for the best. I'm not one that is easily loved. I fall too easily. God, thinking this makes me laugh. I really hope he doesn't come across this. But just in case, little British boy if you're listening, I hope all is well. I hope you've made progress in acting, and I hope you're still the same little British boy. I hope this sick and cruel world hasn't twisted your creativity. I remember when I saw the trailer with Eva Green, the costume design on the movie just blew me away. The dresses looked amazing and the showcase looked somewhat reasonable. When it aired in theatres I had forgotten about it and I dare not watch movies in german theatres anyways these days... I can't bear the synchronisations... I finally got to see it on Netflix now and it was quite an enjoyable movie. 15 Seconds into the credits I was like "holy shit what is this song I NEED to put it on replay". And now I am here again, listening to another Florence and Machine Song. One of so many brilliant pieces I've heard in these past years. Florence and Lorde, those two are honestly very close to me.
