Flogging Molly - Another Bag Of Bricks Lyrics
T`was in the early evenin`
Near the presence of the moon
You told me you would meet me here
Well now is not too soon
This dagger twisting in my back
Have trusted everything to fall
From beggar to fool
I see your face like every race
A serpent with two arms
Devouring me while rains the sun
With dreams in foreign lands
This cold dark tormented hell
Is all I`ll ever know
So when you get to heaven
May the devil be the judge
With another bag of bricks
I scratch your name across these walls
And with my blood turns red
Then drips upon my killing floor
Where I now call my bed
No precious light to harbor
Like so many here before
Now breathes a thousand more
With another bag of bricks
Temper filled with blindness
Leads this lost and lonely man
Dragged around your whipping tree
A scourge you can`t command
So deafen me with silence
Drown me with your roar
Scowl me with your hollow eyes
Still burnin` to the core
No door will go unanswerd
Like so many closed before
No vagabond to knock upon
This tired and beatin` war
When all return to exile
Free from all once bound
Decline and brawl old parasites
The truth will yet be found
With another bag of bricks
With another bag of bricks
With another bag of bricks
This cold dark tormented hell
Is all I`ll ever know
So when you get to heaven
May the devil be your judge
Temper filled with blindness
Leads this lost and lonely man
Dragged around your whipping tree
A scourge you can`t command
So deafen me with silence
Drown me with your roar
Scowl me with your hollow eyes
Still burnin` to the core
No door will go unanswerd
Like so many closed before
No vagabond to knock upon
This tired and beatin` war
When all return to exile
Free from all once bound
Decline and brawl old parasites
The truth will yet be found
With another bag of bricks
With another bag of bricks
With another bag of bricks
With another bag of bricks

The devil is no longer in heaven....casted out like shit
When you get to heaven, may the devil be your judge!
Definitely reminiscent of the Pogues. Wish they did more like this.
Saw them at our University in 2003, it was the best concert ever, except the bands who played first. I just wanted to hear my fav Irish band! 😂 Loved them, didn't want it to be over! ❤ ✝ Thank you for putting it up! ;)
Hello
Would you please have an other pack of bricks for me ?
Hello.
I'm sorry that I only could ask m'y question with my French native language : Is this " plagiat" or folklore?
Germany?
Who else just saw them with the Murphys at Bill Graham on thursday? I'm still amped.
I wish they would make a cd set with all of the songs from all of the shows. They have a few out there but not all.
This song sounds like a modern version of fiddler on the roof
Sons Of Anarchy.
here because sons of anarchy :D
Another bag of dicks
Wie die Pogues....
I like his songs. I use it for videos (soundtrack).
Reminds me of the Turkish Song of the Damned by the Pogues
@tippy4674 It's pretty uncomfortably balanced on that thin line between a tribute and a barefaced rip-off.
Or just inspired? It's really the general feel of the song that's similar, not much else.
I heard a mashup of the two that was actually pretty good.
@FoxfirePoet link, please
"When all return >>>FROM<<< exile,
Free from all once bound"
Get the lyrics right.
+Luke Kowald Indeed. Also, they sing 'With every drup of life you take you wins a Thousand more'.
This is also not correct in the lyrics. :(
you forgot let every breath of life you take
I love this song. Can't get enough of it.
On the album it says Lebanese
That's the phrygian scale.
Was just thinking the same thing.
Took me some time to find that song ! Heard it in Sons of Anarchy, I love it
Me too. Thank God for google and forums.
The Pogues "Turkish Song of the Damned" is where they got the tune from
Sounds a little bit romanian :DD
a bit :D
Sons of Anarchy
When you get to heaven, may the Devil be your judge!
Funny I always get a Romanian vibe from this song.
It's because of the banjo, which has a similar pitch than an mid-oriential string instrument that I just can't remember the name. And of course of the use of the augmented 7th scales, whiches are very common in arabian traditional music
When all return from exile
Free from all once bound
Decline and brawl old parasites
The truth will yet be found
This reminds me of the Anglo-Irish conflict and the Irish who I think were exiled from their own land.
where is the acoustic version of this song? I like it just a little bit better than this version...
My personal favourite... I find it very different from their other songs... Everything is awesome though.
