Flock Of Seagulls, A - The Fall Lyrics

I've seen your face before
In shadows on the wall;
Splinters of broken light,
Echos that spear the night.

Is this the fall
Or is this the fall?
Is this the fall
Or is this the fall?

I've passed this way before
Walked through the open door;
Walked through the darkest night
Throughout the brightest light.

Is this the fall
Or is this the fall?
Is this the fall
Or is this the fall?

Is this the fall
Or is this the fall?
Is this the fall
Or is this the fall?
Is this the fall
Or is this the fall?
Is this the fall...

    This song is just out of this World x

  8. q.... ....

    The otherworld atmosphere of this entire album is amazing- not only from the keyboard work, but from the guitar work like on this song- much of it sounds like it might be keyboards, but it's actually Paul Reynolds making his guitar sound atmospheric!

    q.... ....

    Agreed Paul had a magic touch, something was missing when he left x

    Great song to get stoned too.

  14. R.... J....

    Still beautiful, all these years later. This is, in fact, the fall.

  15. S.... ....

    This music makes me so sad...I wish I was a teen in 80s. What we have now is terrible compared to the amazingness that is 80s music

    S.... ....

    j know it's not the same time frame or band but i was 15 when Disintegration by the Cure came out (1989) and it was a glorious time to be a fan (luckily i was into them from a few years back because their popularity also brought in a lot of fair weather fans as well)...i am fairly new to AFOS and this one of my favorite songs

    S.... ....

    Totally agree.
    I was born in Madrid in 1980, and this musical movement (post-punk & new wave) caught me when I was just a kid. Here in Spain, there was a similar movement known as "La Movida Madrileña", where some very good new wave bands appeared. But it was no t as good as in UK.
    Instead, I lived the 90s, where there was also very good music (grunge, brit pop, shoegaze, indie... ). But I would to love to be born 15 years earlier and have lived those great years in UK, wtih all these incredible bands in their apogee and playing live shows everywhere.

    S.... ....

    Those of us who fell in love with alternative music back then had to dodge kicks, trash, spit, all kinds of insults, and sometimes cars. The music was awesome, but we paid a heavy price for deviating. And I'd do it all again.

    Take me back to the eighties or lose me forever......................

    It's a shame that they weren't recognized for songs like The Fall, The Traveller, Modern Love is Automatic... but instead all anyone remembers from them is the (in my opinion) vastly inferior I Ran...

    Y.... ....

    I don't think I Ran is inferior, it's just been over played to make it seem less appreciated to the ears now.

    Y.... ....

    nah. I Ran is better than all those.

    Y.... ....

    I don't feel _'I Ran (So Far Away)'_ is inferior. It's just that casual music fans will always gravitate towards what is "familiar and comfortable" to them. They will listen only to what is most popular, trendy or established because the music industry has told them that only what they hear on mainstream radio or other mainstream music sources is "the best", when obviously that's just a subjective opinion formulated by some suits at record companies.

    _'I Ran'_ is their most popular and well-known song so, unfortunately, most people won't "bother" with anything else but "the hits". They tend to miss out on other gems that radio and music companies might deem too "this or that" for regular radio airplay. That's why it *_SUCKS_* to be a casual music fan - cause even though they think they are choosing what to listen to, in reality, they don't - someone else in some record company office has already decided that for them...

    Y.... ....

    I Ran is a great introduction song into the band - and agreed they have even better songs than I Ran. --- My personal favorite is Nightmares.

    Y.... ....

    @Rainey Dawn Mine as well.
