Fleshgod Apocalypse - Elegy Lyrics
Cast by the dark embrace
The night is captivating me like a siren
Seductive voice of my frustration
Refusing wisdom, feeding my dread
Twisting all the warps of my insanity
Demonic courtiers torment my spirit with misleading speech
To let the faith of the one sadly crawl before the deceiver
And make the pain rip the soul of the unbridled sleeper
Gods! Partake my grave endeavor
Gods liberate the force giving me a new vigor
Gods! Unleash the rage so unfairly enslaved
Lead me to this leech draining innocence
Concealed between the bleeding walls of my suffering
And bless the sword that's gonna slay
Surpassing all the edges forever
Bound to this labyrinth
Selene is tricking me
Misled by darkness 'n' tainting lies of my mortality
Can't find the passage to my own rise
Enforcing all the gates of duality
I let my days falter in decline
Invaders of my shelter
Becoming stronger in my hearth and driving me to madness
They dominate like a storm with a raging power
And burn the core, lacerate, the forsaken hero
Grace of the gods for one that will live forever and find the secret of a scar!
Cold through my flesh is the blade of my abysmal vengeance
The dagger lacerates my neck while I'm feeling conscious
The muscle's pushing through my veins
Red lymph that from my new mouth come outside
Like words I never told you
Gods take this prayer of my last tragic epilogue
Concealed between the bleeding walls was my suffering
And bless the sword that's gonna slay
The beast that I confined into myself
To transmigrate and live forevermore

PUTACERA AWEBOOOO!!!
Why tf dont they play this song live anymore? Its their best song
Too bad they don't craft such insane compositions anymore.
ofc they cam
Master piece
live you all! keep up the good work!
SUPERBIA ITALICA!!!
All of their songs would be better if they turned down the drums (or at least the bass drums) in the mix.
Nah, the mix is what makes their overhwelming sound so unique. That cataclysmic force behind the bombardment of the drums makes it all so much more powerful. Too bad they did exactly what you suggest with their latest two albums.

Fukkkkkkkkkk how I have not heard of these fukkkkkkkks?!?
Is there anything more hard than this song?
paolo rossi 👏👏👏
I liked it
Nice👌🙀
My fucking face is melting
Viva Italia!
I love Labyrinth. Never really understood the hate for it.
+Neverbloom It is one fantastic album, but I believe most complains about the sound/poor mixing, since some instruments are drowned under others.
It is a pretty shitty movie TBH.
SUPER late on this lol, but I'm with Aethearius. It's a great album, but I'm not a fan of the mixing/sound. Towards The Sun and Kingborn are killer songs, but a lot of the best parts are masked by the orchestra. Still a fantastic album, though.
Wow, this is so good I'm surprised it isn't illegal
This is so fucking epic, My god!
Hail The Fleshgod!!!
I heard Minotaur, then I heard this, now I have purchased all their albums< I suggest everyone else does the same.
Good song
i like what fleshgod is doing with their musc \m/
Those who hate Fleshgod at this point in their musical careers clearly do not understand what it is they are doing with their music. They have repeatedly stated that they have strong classical music influences and would have loved to tour with Beethoven. They have even said they feel like classical music was the death metal of it's time because of how powerful and loud it can be. The old soap box about not hearing the guitars is invalid because the whole point of a band is for the instruments to work together. Listening to Fleshgod Apocalypse is like listening to a metal orchestra. And to those who say their symphonic elements sound fake should google how expensive having an actual orchestra record or travel with a band is.
+deepheart100
and why we need to understand them? its music, not a fucking exercise at school.
so whats it to be?
i think you dont understand my point. i realy like the conception behind their music, like their technics and live- shows, everytime very impressive. i can mention that this kind of music is the shit they wanna make. i like the first album, but my appreciation comes to an end when i hear it at the "next" album again and again. and so i wouldnt be concerned anymore, when i get bored by them.
excuse that english.
@DarkAntheis as i wrote, i realy like the first album and also like that they make the kind of shit they wanna make... we all hear to good music, but dont forget to be critical all the time, especially on your favorite band, dont be zombi ;)
Stole my heart IMARIGHT +deepheart100
awesomeme!
being creative is one thing, but creating a fusion blend of symphonic orchestral/ classical & death metal only led to absolute CONFUSION & sounded terribly horrible that is Fleshgod Apocalypse!!..absolutely DREADFUL,0/10!!!..
Cannibal Corpse,Deicide,Aborted,Nile,Krisium,Hate Eternal,Vital Remains & etc would KILL these guys on any given day on stage!!!...imao....
Seriously, you were confused by this? You need to sit down and LISTEN. You can hear every single instrument, how they harmonize and create a great symphony. You're clearly not used to symphonic music.
You haven't seen them live in that case.
I HAVE seen them live. They played at the Inferno Festival in Norway this year and I was there. ;)
answering these kind of bullshit without a solid based argument is pointless. This guy clearly doesn't know any shit about music.
These guys have gotten progressively worse. I just listened to this album and I have to say it is one of the worst metal albums produced this year. Whoever mixed this did a terrible job; the riffs are mediocre at best; the bass isn`t audible; the symphonic elements are not dynamic; and the drummer has substituted constant blast-beats for constant double-bass. There is little cohesion here between the death metal and symphic elements--it`s just a bombastic mess. The only track it works in is "Minotaur".
this is by far fleshgod's most diverse and strong release do date, they make more use of the symphonic element they've been known for, and the mixing on this is a piece of art. it's not just the technical death metal band that they used to be anymore, they're something even greater.
@Nicolas Kennedy I don't understand the massive amounts of complaints about the production.
LABYRINTH is their BEST produced/mixed/mastered/engineered album to date. The statements made here about awful production aren't based on any solid points aside from "I CAN'T HEAR THE GUITARS GUYS"
Also, the Orchestra isn't "fake."
A lot of the time, artists will record a real orchestra, as well as program orchestra using music software that's even available online for purchase, and these programs are used by more than just artists...
People like danny elfman and JJ Abrams use these software programs for their cinematic sound tracks.
@JohnnieLok Listen to this album on a really good sound system, or with high quality headphones. It's a mess sonically; there's no dynamic range whatsoever
@sarkhan vol They have never been just a technical death metal band. They have always had symphonic elements, no matter how small. I would argue that they are not greater then before. What they did was add more and more symphonic elements to their sound, but in the process they deviated from writing as good of riffs, which is essential to being a good death metal band. I think overall they are less interesting and dynamic in terms of being musicians. Everything feels scaled back, but it is coated with classical music, which doesn't always fuse correctly.
I can't understand why you say this is a bad production, I can hear all the instruments, probably your stereo sucks. Anyway, you can't expect to hear every riff precisely, they structure their sound on a symphonic. Go to see them live and you will realize they are gret musicians. However, this is one of the most innovative sounds I've ever heard.
To this moment, this is the only track i like, from the new album.
It has the right equilibrium between heavyness and orchestration. The other ones seem to be just heavy stuff with an orchestra on the background. This one gets the point on both sides, instead. Like "The Betrayal" or "The Forsaking" on the previous one.
+feidtublec I can't agree. I think they nailed the blend of classical and metal elements. They work together, like a symphony, rather than taking complemental turns like a piano concerto.
Good stuff
my favorite track on the album!
these guys look badass
awesome!!
FleshGod has to be one of the most overall talented bands I've ever heard, and that's saying something coming from someone who has over 21,000 in there iTunes library (90% of witch is some form of metal). As soon as I heard the first song on there first album I was immediately a huge fan, and they just keep stepping there game up every album! The day this band retires will be a very dark day in the world of metal.
i dont know anything darker than this band... lets say the sun will shine, which is clearly not what is wanted in hell
+S1N9UL4R17Y Lol dude I wanna know what bands you got there.
Magnifici! Continuate cosí, siete grandi!
Thank you for that track. It is pretty good could use better quality though.
this music is really deep llook up the lyrics
I like the last part of song because drums going fast with orchestra whole song is amazing I like the new album too! I hope I got chance to see you guys on Turkey one day :)
Indeed, would be amazing if ontop of everything the year ended with Wintersun's TIME II :) but we have to wait until 2014 :/
Thanks bro! How can one be a reviewer and miss that fact at the same time?
I agree with you, that that 'reviewer' doesn't seem legit, as they're different, but this was a good year. (Even though Megadeth almost ruined it with Super Collider)
Bu-Tik by Chthonic, Everblack by TBDM, Surgical Steel by Carcass, Rescue & Restore by ABR, Hail to the King by Ax7, Halo of Blood by CoF, Infestissumam by Ghost, One of Us is the Killer by TDEP and many more.
Oh and the album Labyrinth is also a must-hear. This year was great for fans of Metal. I'm glad to be one myself :D
Fucking Awesome... When the album where available I bought it. Continue doing this fantastic music.
Got this Album. Its awesome, best death/black mix Ive Ever heard.
Cannot listen to anything else at the moment. One of the best songs I've ever heard.
I respect that opinion and will check out those albums. Cheers.
I didn't want to look arrogant. As you can see, my english is very poor and I didn't want to make long sentences for avoiding mistakes. I'm sorry...
But the guy wants someone to list some albums which are better than Labyrinth. I really love this album, but during this year, I've find so many CDs that are better than Labyrinth (I'm a disc reviewer for a webzine, and so I've listened to many incredible album).
Well, that is your subjective opinion. Furthermore, why are you proposing this idea as a fact? You must specify, 'in my opinion' or you come off as arrogant and/or ignorant.
Cult Of Luna - Vertikal
Hord - The Book of Eliott
Dark Tranquillity - Construct
Tristania -Darkest White
Sombres Forêts - La Mort du Soleil
2013 is really a great year for Metal. Labyrinth is excellent, but there are so much better album than this one... As the few i've listed.
that's true
Stupid name? It fuckin kicks ass!
u guys just keep getting more brutal fuck yes
I love Fleshgod Apocalypse =]
This is fucking incredible!
FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!
Despite to the stupid name this band is amazing! I never heard such hellish performance! They defintely came from hell!!! :)
Saw these guys open up for Behemoth a few years ago they are fucking brilliant!
Hmm..I hadn't given that thought. I'll have to do a comparison. But naturally as a guitarist I noticed the guitar mix first :)
Is it just me or the vocalist was drowned out in Agony a bit compared to this? Because I am loving Labyrinth
Well I don't LOVE it, I just like it. It sounds pretty good. But I like other bands better.
Colored Sands and Vermis and Surgical Steel, uhhhhhh
I love this shit though.
Can you name some better ones? I'm not trolling you. I really want to know.
I haven't decided what I think of this album yet, but I understand when the critics say that the guitars are lower in the mix, in favor of the orchestrations. I thought Agony had the perfect mix: the guitars were there, they were lower in the mix than Oracles, but the personality of the band shone through very much.
because there are so many better metal albums this year.
you should think about getting a better laptop maybe...
This album is getting so much shit. I can't see why though.
I guess you're better
If there's a Instrumental version of this, that would be amazing.
yeah totally! you could use some male sexual enhancement pills.
what a blast beat
This is so awesome my laptop went 'f*ck it' and died for 4 minutes and 24 seconds, yes my laptop can't handle this level of awesome
i never thought i could like symphonic metal this much... holy shit
right now there is "All comments" sitting at (666) fuckn freaky.
The more you listen to it the more you can distinguish things. The fact is they added a lot of orchestral to this album and it takes up the wavelength of sound that the mid range guitars predominately occupy. They must have been aware of this but who gives a fuck. Still sounds amazing even with the subtle nuances of not being able to clear distinguish every little note. You must take it in as a whole. It is indeed an epic master piece of death metal meets classical. I hope more bands follow.
How does it feel to be the only one who thinks you're cool?
damn u guys still got it.....er never lost it ...headbanging doesnt even cover it..its faceslamming at this point
or you could just keep your shitty opinion to yourself, because despite what you think, the rest of the internet does not give a shit.
While I do love the hell out of this, the mix can get so messy throughout the album sometimes, I can't tell if it's intentionally made hard to hear whats happening or if they just needed a better studio tech.
in the related videos i see "America's secret weapons". probably because THIS is Italy's secret weapon!
You sir, are a complete waste of oxygen.
Go apologize to a tree!
Another obnoxiously opinionated metalhead. Break the mold.
dem blast beats
more like THE blend
Just listened to the song you recommended. The "orchestral" music sounded really chaotic, didn't go well with the death metal part. Also, vocals and drums were really weak.
The transition at 1:18 just makes wanna fuckin go crazy!!
Is just me or does this entire song give you goose bumps?
That riff 0:49 is by far without a doubt the best riff i've ever heard.
meravigliosa :D
My nigga. For real though, it's a Goddamn shame Septicflesh hasn't reached the popularity Fleshgod has; I'd fucking love to see them play together in the states one of these days
Exactly! Those 2 last Septicflesh albums are perfect!! I havent listened to this whole álbum yet but in Minotaur (Wrath of Poseidón) it sounds like theyre taking that direction which is amazing.
GLORIOUS!!!!!!
0:36 = chills up my spine. Every... single... time...
he could listen to Sepicflesh's last two album, they're pretty much the standard for how to do symphonic death metal well
Orgasm, complete.
I don't often listen to Russian Symphonic Brutal Technical Death Metal but when I do, I don't.
its ok...are u listening on earphones?
42 people need to dissolve...
someone hates their life.
After listening to this brutally awesome song my brain was raped and thrown in a dark alley to die a slow and painful death... YEAAHHH!!!!!
your obviously an idiot, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all,
"I'm on the internet and my opinion differs from yours, so you're wrong and an [insert stupid insult here because I'm an eight grader]". ~ Joe DiVita
I have been listening to this song for 2 hours straight now. And i am not planning to stop any time soon. In my opinion: Best FA song so far!!! Can,t wait to hear the full album!!
