Fleetwood Mac - These Strange Times Lyrics

These strange times I think of a friend
They said was a man of the world
When all the time he was in a fight
Between the dark and the light
Yes I too, my friend, find the devil
Trying to make me do things I don't want to do
Now I find myself crying out
God is nowhere, God is nowhere

These strange times I look in my heart
And see the dark not the light
And how I'm sad and wished I was in love
And look to the sky and cry out
God is nowhere, God is nowhere
And this is hell
Being caught between the dark and the light
Daddy, daddy, hold on
God is now here, God is now here

These strange times I too have dreams
Things that make me wonder
If to walk a thin line is like dying alone
And I'm trying to find my way home
To where God is now here and the dark is now light
Yes I'm crying out, God is now here
God is now here and that was hell
Being caught between the dark and the light
Between the dark and the light

These strange times I look in my heart
And how I'm sad and wished I was in love
And I look to the sky and cry out
God is now here, God is now here
God is now here, God is now here
My friend I do wish that I was in love
I wished I was in love
I love you, I love you

Fleetwood Mac These Strange Times Comments
  1. D.... ....

Everybody knows F.Mac(album), Rumours, Tusk, Tango and even Mirage but in all the other albums there are many gems worthy of equal recognition. Also think it was Lucy Fleetwood on backing backing?

  2. B.... W....

And didn't sheet get complicated, still, started off that way didn't it, peace, sort of ;-)

  3. T.... ....

Such an amazing piece from a sadly disregarded album.... The brilliant wordplay, the references to past band members, the amazing engineering that turns Bekka's voice into a guitar riff at the end, the whole, desperate tone of the entire piece! One of the best things Fleetwood Mac ever released, and forever in my top ten FM songs!

    T.... ....

    that's Lucy Fleetwood singing

  4. Z.... ....

Kinda reminds me of Nick Mason speaking at the end of Eclipse by Pink Floyd

  5. f.... ....

This is just wonderful IMHO - great lyrics and wordplay, superb drum part and a superb atmosphere. Chronically underrated.

  6. J.... G....

    Awesome album!

  7. D.... N....

I have it on good authority that this is apparently it's Yoda's favourite song.

    Is that Mick Fleetwood speaking??

    S.... C....

Mick's speaking about his good friend Peter Green, the creator of Fleetwood Mac...

    S.... C....

I think that it's his daughter too.

  10. M.... T....

One of my favorite songs in this album. Awesome song.
