Fleetwood Mac - Running Through The Garden Lyrics
Until she herself
Became the deadliest poison
As she grew older
Ooh, until she herself
Became just as fatal
And so you run toward
What you know is wrong
There are too many flowers
To cut down
With all the love I have for your life
For the love I have for your life
Turn around...
Never did I mean to (never did I mean to)
Here in my garden (here in my garden)
Like I am imprisoned (like I am imprisoned)
All the love I have for your life
All the love I have for your life
Turn around (turn around)
Until she herself
Understood her garden
Leaving her heart broken,
No future at all
Until she herself
Became the toxic garden
Always frightened,
No future at all
And so you run towards
What you know is wrong
There are too many flowers
To cut down
With all the love I have for your life
With all the love I have for your life
Turn around...
Never did I mean to (never did I mean to)
Imprison you (imprison you)
Here in my garden (here in my garden)
Like I am imprisoned (like I am imprisoned)
All the love I have for your life
All the love I have for your life
Turn around (turn around)
So you run towards
What you know is wrong
But there are too many flowers
To cut down
With all the love I have for your life
With all the love I have for your life
Turn around...
Running through the garden,
I'm running in brilliant colors
I'm running straight toward, straight toward
What you know is really wrong
Too many flowers here to cut down
For the love I have for your life
Turn around
For the love I have (for the love I have)
For the love I have (for the love I have)
Turn around...

Fleetwood Mac Running Through The Garden Comments
Even as a huge fan of Stevie's lyrics, I gotta admit this one leaves me scratching my head.
Much like Gate and Garden does on the album, The Wild Heart.
This album needs some Christine!
The album is great without her.
Until she herself
Became the deadliest poison
As she grew older
Ooh, until she herself
Became just as fatal
As was her garden
And so you run toward
What you know is wrong
There are too many flowers
To cut down
With all the love I have for your life
For the love I have for your life
Turn around
Never did I mean to (never did I mean to)

This song reminds me of the time I left from London 2003 time after a long time of many years living their No idea what its about like some song Love it. I remember listening over Halloween for the first time back in Bolton to it.
Too bad Stevie Nicks never grew up into a fully formed adult. Fame and wealth arrested her development as an artist. She bought into her own image as a famous icon and it ruined her development, both as an artist and a person. She's still some kind of arrested juvenile version of herself. On the one hand, it's fascinating and enticing. On the other hand, her limited vocabulary has ruined her evolution as a songwriter.
Why do u speak as if you know her personally lmao
Lindsey is that you?????
John Leggieri Hahaha 😂
And now, at no one's request, someone smitten with their own voice to weigh in on the art and life of someone they never met.
wow this is so good!
Hmm... garden
Hmm...
Hmm...
Vagina.
Forced Memes lmao
She ingested a lot of helium on this track
They are actually childrens voices at the end.
Love this song so much!!!!
Fun fact: this song was inspired by the Nathaniel Hawthorne short story "Rappaccini's Daughter."
I read the short story in tenth grade English class and my teacher played this song and we analyzed the lyrics and how they reflect the story
Yep, played the song at the end the story. The class liked both song and story.
This song is about a married woman singing to the (other) guy who fell in love with her, and she could never be free to be with him. That's my take.
Downoneburn In this case, he was the married one who couldn’t be with her.
@Peter Lloyd Well, its short for Hawthorne.
Great Song.
I love her
Highly underrated song.
Sean, an underrated album at that
anyone know where i can find tabs for this song?
