The way Buckingham makes his guitar 'squeak,' right in the beginning, is just amazing. I've never heard anything like that sound in a song before.

I've always assumed this was a Buckingham number, but I'm shocked -- and delighted -- to learn it's one of Stevie's! Don't get me wrong: her songwriting powers are legendary. But this one has such a strong rhythmic base, and a kind of Lindsey-esque melodic playfulness, that I just always thought it was his. Wow. Could be my favorite track on one of the world's greatest recordings.

Check out the clackers hanging. Those damned things injured a lot of young people. My right forearm was a hideous blackish, purpleish,greenish mess but it was one of the fun things of the 70s.

Dak Lamerbusch the band was pretty much done for after this album. We are very well lucky enough to even have albums after this one. Rumors was such a mess during recording sessions. A damn war zone. Through it all, they stuck together for us.

This song should have been Silver Springs, but back then they couldn't fit a long song on an album without bumping others out, so they dropped Silver Springs and added this.

This is boring and weak compared to Planets of The Universe. Whoever thought Planets was a bad song and didn't deserve to be on the album is an idiot. You can legitimately feel the rage, the pain, the bitterness in Stevie's voice. This? Meh.... I don't feel it. Just sounds like watery country pop. Go listen to Planets Of The Universe demo and if you don't cry listening to it then there's something wrong with you.

The album was oversaturated. They have so much hit material here that they could have made FIVE albums out of it! Rumors had TEN HITS. They could have put two each per album and made EVEN MORE MILLIONS!

Robert Loudon - Remember, Stevie didn’t want this song on Rumours. She thought Silver Springs would be her obligatory third song, but it was to long to fit. Lindsey had this song fully recorded by the band, with his lead vocals, before approaching Stevie about cutting Silver Springs. It’s only then that Stevie (with a metaphorical “gun to her head” as she put it) added her harmony lead vocal to this fine song. It worked out great, but it wasn’t what Stevie wanted.
