Fleetwood Mac - Destiny Rules Lyrics
Maybe we were together in another life
Maybe we are together in a parallel universe
Maybe our paths are not supposed to cross twice
Maybe your arms are not supposed to go around me
I wonder where you are and how you feel
Sometimes I walk by and I look up to your balcony
Just to make sure that you were real
Just to make sure that I can still feel you
When I see you again,
As I always do
It appears to me that
Destiny rules
And the spirits are ruthless with the paths they choose
It's just following the rules
No one's a fool...
Six weeks in a foreign country, how the time flew
I didn't speak the language, but somehow I knew
That that would be the only time that we could be alone and foolish
We said we'd never come home
When I see you again,
As I always do
It appears to me that
Destiny rules
And the spirits are ruthless with the paths they choose
It's not being together,
It's just following the rules
No one's a fool...
I like the coastal cities, I like the lights
I like the way the city blends into the ocean at night
It's like living on a working river; the coastline is glittering
Like a diamond snake in a black sky
When I see you again,
As I always do
It appears to me that
Destiny rules
And the spirits are ruthless with the paths they choose
It's not being together,
It's just following the rules
No one's a fool...
Just following the rules... no one's a fool
Just following the rules... no one's a fool
Just following the rules... no one's a fool
No one's a fool...

Great song, classic Stevie lyric:
"Sometimes I walk by and I look up to your balcony just to make sure you were real,
Just to make sure that I can still *feel* you.
Exactly, Stevie. You understand.
Enrique & Cerise our chance at 💕 twin 🔥
Echoes of "The Chain" in the guitar refrain.
Meu amor por Fleetwood gigantesco.
Enrique & Cerise Our Chance at LOVE
Beautiful songs, this is a twin flame song to me, which Stevie and Lindsay are... Gorgeous song written by an equally gorgeous Ms. Nicks .

This song is so divine.

One of Macs best. Great album
You can fuck married women, just don't fall in love..
Awesome song
Abslutely incredible. Lindsey and Stevie are in perfect sync as usual.
She is saying in this song that her and Lindsey would be together if it was not for Kristen getting pg when she did. So they are just following the rules noones a fool.
❤️❤️❤️

amazing
This is one of the bands best tracks, Lindseys guitar, Stevie's writing & singing, Mick & John all in perfect balance. Shame Christine wasnt involved with the project. This album is very underrated.
I hate the fact that Stevie fucked Mick. What a ho.
BEST RHYTHM SECTION EVER...John & Mick...
I’m 11 and this is my favorite band
She has been singing over us since before we were born!!
your a 11 and this is Your Favorite Wow That's Amazing and Its one of my Favorites but the Say you will Album is My Favorite Album by Fleetwood Mac
You have great taste in music!!!
Same with my 2 sons as well around your age 10 and 11
This is fleetwood Mac nice song
Mick is not doing well. John just got over beating Colin cancer. Think It's over. But we have their music and memories.. God bless them all. And hopefully I can plan a trip to Moui to go to Micks Restaurant.
Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac created some great music at this time. Trouble in Shangra La is a great album too.
Bella Donna is better!
Say You Will is such an underrated album... gotta love the imagery in Stevie's lyrics!
2:38 I like the coastal cities, I like the lights
I like the way the city blends into the ocean at night

Like a diamond snake in a black sky
Damn, I had this record when I was 14 (28 now). I liked listening to some heavy shit even back then. Lol
Gold Dust bought the Rumours album and poster in 1977. I was 12.
I know the feeling, I was a gold dust woman at 11, into the song and the dust
I'll never stop loving you my queen take me with you I sang you all my life you are my life my everything rock on forever and ever you beautiful beautiful GOOD witch my queen take me with you
Instant favorite
This whole album is great very underrated.
I thought for sure that this was going to be released as a single in 2003/2004. It screamed hit!
Buckingham adds so much to this track, seems that they are always better together--
Dave Schock Now that is messed up for good.
Tom Petty said Buckingham was the best at producing and arranging Stevie’s songs
I love fleetwood mac all around......
I'd give half my kingdom to know how to play the outro to this song...classic Lindsey. Please, someone figure it out and post the tab. I'm just not good enough to figure it out.
What about this one?

Lindsey's playing at the end gives me goosebumps. Probably because it feels so in line with that 20-something year old guy who was playing on the Buckingham Nicks record, and The Chain etc. It's like a natural progression of his genius.
Letting him go was the worst thing that they could have done.
Well put, I agree :)
They KILLED IT!!!Stevie, us 50 somethings still require our music to make it! 💜
couldnt agree more. im 56 and this is perfect for my well being. greetings to all from texas and god bless the Mac
I have a year on ya! Yep, I hope they keep on going, I know Stevie will.
I like the the coastal Cities I like the light.
...like a diamond snake in a black sky.
Sing it Sista!
No doubt they could turn a good tune.
one of the best........
I love the music in this song. It sounded great even in the demos.
Can you link me to where I can hear the demo?
+Atomic Robo Tesla in the destiny rules documentary
@Noah Clark Thank you for that.
starts at around 3.40 in the documentary
" Say You Will " is one of my all time favorite Mac albums ...
Yes, it was and is seriously underrated. Very different from their 70's and 80's work, given that Christine was not a part of it and a more updated sound and production.
I think it's one of their best albums to. It's in my top three Mac albums.
Mine too! Rumours is great but this is definitely my favorite FM album. A lot of gems on it.
You can really hear their roots from back in the 70s in this song.
August Burns Red It's not Rumors, but it's straight out of Tusk.
Or actually, it's Rumours era guitar and Tusk era singing.
Adam Frost-Venrick ya, listen to "the chain" from calling the rumors album. You can hear the same influence.
August Burns Red One of my favorite songs, the influence is there. But this is so driving. And that's why this band is my all time favorite. As many line up changes and albums as they've made, all their stuff is so unique.
GREAT SONG
Great? Son, it's not _great_ and I appalled you would say that! It's _legendary!_ (or just incredibly addictive :p lol)
