this is the birthchild of radiohead and the beach boys

Might be my favorite song on the album. There is just such a misty feel that it gives, so mysterious, yet so warm??? I love it.

This sounds more like post-rock Talk Talk than Radiohead. Also kind of reminds me of the Women (band) songs Lawncare and Upstairs.

Just saw these guys at the Masonic temple in Detroit. I have been dreaming of that moment for years. My dream came true and I cried during their opening song. The band sounds even better in person. Robin you are my inspiration. Fleet foxes forever!!!!

When I first listened to this album, I instantly thought it was a kind of OK Computer revelation of Fleet Foxes'. The depth of emotion and instrumental is fantastic.

I would draw a parallel more between Kid A and Crack-Up than OK Computer

What does Mearcstapa means ?

"March Stepper", usually in reference to a monster like Grendel from Beowulf

the reference of Mearcstapa from Beowulf means an Edge Walker

Mearcstapa translated directly from old English means march stalker or march stepper, but the mearcstapa is essentially a monster named Grendel. Grendel is a descendant of Cain who in the epic poem “beowulf” slays many many men and is finally slain by Beowulf.

I really like the mix of influences, for me its more tortoise than radiohead, definitely a post rock vibe, goes really well with the folk landscapes
