Flamingos, The - Love Walked In Lyrics

Love walked right in and drove the shadows away
Love walked right in and brought my sunniest day
One magic moment and my heart seemed to know that love said hello
Though not a word was spoken

One look, and I forgot the gloom of the past
One look and I had found my future at last
One look and I had found a world completely new
When love walked in with you

One magic moment and my heart seemed to know that love said hello
Though not a word was spoken

One look and I had found a world completely new
When love walked in with you

  2. b.... c....

Almost no one could pull off Gershwin like these guys

  3. K.... H....

Paul Wilson as a lead was very underrated but he was my favorite.

  4. E.... S....

    😊It's an OOOOOoooold classic song...
& this is the very BEST interpretation of it that everEVERever got suuuuuuuuung!!!!!!!!!!😃
These talented young fellas "Flamingoed" the beeCHEESEusss out of it.
(-ain't it weird that we never really think of Flamingos-them-thurr funny-lookin pinkish bent-beaked birdies-as 'song'birds???🤔)

    E.... S....

I must show this comment to my long-suffering psychiatrist this week...& maybe she'll finally let me get back on my Lithium...🤔😨😉👽😑

  5. M.... r....

this music is before my time but let me tell you something there is no group better than the flamingos

  6. E.... P....

When I hear this song I think of my dad we used to ask him all the time whistle for us Daddy and go look at these flamingos whistle that song in like the one man said it is funny that is so beautiful there Harmony is like no no one is like the flamingos I love them

  7. c.... ....

The Flamingo's are my favorite, all time group, other then the Temptations. They both could produce sweet, smooth harmony.

  8. S.... S....

    W❤W 👑

  9. G.... R....

    Alway's loved their rendition!!!

  10. D.... ....

Flamingos were awesome. Shame, that they didn't recieve much bigger credits in their era (late 50s).

  11. C.... P....

The Flamingos were and will always be the greatest group of all time. First featuring the great Johnny Carter who wrote "Golden Teardrops". And started singing with my old pals, "The Dells" in 1960. Next, Nate Nelson (smoothest lead singer I ever heard),Paul Wilson, Jake Carey, Zeke Carey, Jerry Johnson and Tommy Hunt.

  12. c.... f....

    good Harmony.one of the best.

  13. d.... f....

Being a young kid when these songs were coming out. I sure miss those days.

  14. d.... f....

Well late October 1965, USMC. All of a sudden it,s time to go somewhere. I heard this song on the radio. And to this day I still enjoy this song very Dearly.

  15. K.... C....

The whistling gives the song a really haunting sound. IMO much better than the original

  16. C.... S....

A classic remake of a 40s era song sung only the way the great Flamingos could do it! They are one of the greatest groups of the doo wop days.

  17. T.... G....

tarena song at closing late 60s early 70s

  18. E.... ....

I was a little kid the last time I heard this but I've never forgotten it. That whistling sounds like a theramin.

  19. H.... M....

Their stye and grace was beyond compare!  Their  sweet harmonies set the standard for all other groups to follow. AND, THEY COULD DANCE TOO!

    H.... M....

Their song "Jump Children" demonstrates just how well they danced.

  20. D.... W....

WOW, THIS IS ORGINAL TRUE STEREO! PROBABLY RECORDED ON 2 OR 3 TRACK ANALOG VACUUM TUBE EQUIPMENT! FANTASTIC TRACK, THANX!!

  21. b.... ....

Great.  I'll have to check out Gershwin's.  Never knew this

  22. R.... K....

there is nothing spooky about it I tell you; mellow and sexy maybe....

  23. D.... M....

Enchanting and haunting is used a lot to describe these guys.   I have to agree -- love them to death.

    D.... M....

    And enduring...

  24. A.... B....

Does anyone know what harmony is anymore?? The Flamingos did it best, not to forget their forever classic I ONLY HAVE EYES FOR YOU that will never go away ---

    A.... B....

I'd give anything to hear a group today sing harmonies like this!

    A.... B....

Allen Blaine I hear that whistling and I remember how my father would whistle that tune to my mom it was nothing but pure love just like they were your love thank you for the Mingos

    A.... B....

My absolute favorite Old School vocal group. None did it better until The Drifters and Temptations came on the scene...

  25. L.... H....

This typically, magnificently arranged Flamingos rendition of George and Ira Gershwin's
breathtaking and unworldly "Love Walked In," was actually inspired by Ira's wife, who Ira always called "Love," his nickname for her. "Love" had been out shopping about town, and during her outing she got in a fender bender. Love arrived home and showed Ira the damage to the car. A day or two later, someone asked Ira what had happened to the car, he said,"Love walked in and sheepishly showed me the wreck!.

  26. S.... L....

Right up there with The Temptations!! Another awesome song by The Flamingo's

  27. S.... S....

Simply amazing. I never get tired of hearing this song. Sends chills down my spine.

  28. J.... D....

Such a beautifully spooky sounding band, just haunting.

  29. A.... D....

    wonderful sound!

  30. T.... V....

    you got that right!

  31. c.... ....

top vocal group of all time....!

  32. r.... ....

The Flamingos had that haunting sound. BEAUTIFUL

  33. J.... R....

    what a haunting song....

  34. N.... A....

    LOVE THIS, JUST WONDERFUL!

  35. Z.... F....

    wonderful

  36. J.... P....

Sorry. Can respect the talent of your uncle and the Drifters, but I still prefer The Flamingos.
You can be proud of your uncle's accomplishments.

  37. 5.... ....

can they blow or what ?

  38. C.... T....

Finally!! Don't worry. We were both too young, but it's still a beautiful memory!

  39. C.... T....

Love this rendition. A perfect explanation for the only blind date I ever had!

  40. b.... ....

Oh man,the memories this song and all these beautifull songs bring. There will NEVER be an era like that again. These singers had talent, they did not beat on a tin can and sprout out filty or violent language out of their mouths.THEY HAD TALENT!! I truly feel sorry for this generation.really sad.And yes Harrell, your uncle was one of the truly talented singers of that time.

  41. S.... ....

@HARRELL222 - It's funny you say "No one could touch the Flamingos"... My two uncles, Gerhart & Andrew Thrasher, were in the Original Drifters with Clyde McPhatter and would tour with the Flamingos and sit in on their practices. I remember vividly my uncle Andrew saying: "Everyone was crazy about the Drifters' harmony but the Flamingos..." He vigorously praised them. That being said, check out my uncle Gerhart singing lead on the Drifters' classic 'Your Promise To Be Mine'. Enjoy...

  42. j.... ....

If anyone has Begin The Beguine by The Flamingos please post

  43. e.... z....

The Flamingo's had more hits than I knew them for, unless of coarse many of them could be hits off their Album(s). I know very little about them as it was "I Only Have Eyes For You", was the only song I knew them for, of coarse this is Vancouver Cda, not Motown. What else wasn't played here is all that Rockabilly that has been posted on Youtube, It's phenominal all the Rockabilly this part of America/Canada missed out on back when, backwhen they were playing Elvis Presley. Thx4 postin'

  44. s.... ....

The Flamingos music goes beyond doo wop. To paraphrase Eric Burdon quote about blues and Jimi Hendrix, they take doo wop to Venus.

  45. s.... ....

This hauntingly beautiful rendition of the Gershwin classic stirred me deeply as a 9-year old kid. The beautiful whistling and the incredibly beautiful arrangement still haunts me today. Pretty spacey stuff for 1959. Hardly anyone I know who lived during this time remembers this. Thanks so much for posting this gem of a recording.

  46. b.... c....

Thank you, missweiner- you have no idea how long I have been looking for this beautiful song.

  47. R.... ....

    Hey missweiner
If you flip the 45 over the other side is just as good "Yours"
    They had such inchanting harmony
The goal of every street corner's group. What a sound :-)

  48. w.... ....

Wow, this is so pretty, 50 years ago and in stereophonic sound, too!!

  49. p.... ....

Only 69 hits for such a fabulous do wap group. You've got to be kidding me.
