Been a crazy year lads, *6 of my classmates have passed away*. One just passed away yesterday. Life is fragile. check up on those you care about and have not talked to in a while.

I saw this song used on an advert for black history month years ago, it had a montage of famous black singers, musicians and actors and simply had the end portion of this songwith that one line "do you realise, that you have the most beautiful face?" and it was powerful because it said everything that many black people never hear. I loved the song before that but I'd never put it in that context before and it spoke to me deeply.

I once had a terrifying mushroom trip in which I thought I had died, and when I realised I hadn't died, I thought I must be insane. As the trip finally peaked and I started to recover, I put on the Flaming Lips' Yoshimi album. The walls started to glow comfortingly and The Flaming Lips explained everything to me. And one of the worst experiences of my life turned into one of the best.
