Fitzgerald, Ella - Sophisticated Lady Lyrics

They say into your early life romance came
And in this heart of yours burned a flame
A flame that flickered one day and died away
Then, with disillusion deep in your eyes
You learned that fools in love soon grow wise
The years have changed you, somehow
I see you now
Smoking, drinking, never thinking of tomorrow, nonchalant
Diamonds shining, dancing, dining with some man in a restaurant
Is that all you really want?
No, sophisticated lady,
I know, you miss the love you lost long ago
And when nobody is nigh you cry

As my master has always taught about research: We must look for so we can find. I played this uniqur piece if MASTERPIECE in the 80s when I evolved my studies and play on classic GUITAR from Elizabethan pieces into jazz . I loved ELLA. So I started SINGING LESSONS with Madalena de Paula . Got the best performance of SLADY at that time. And NOW TODAY OUT OF THR BLUES I DISCOVERED THIS HIGHLY ESTIMATED PIECE OF ARTS OF VOICE AND INSTRUMENT PERFORMANCE. THE WHOLE LP PURE MASTERPIECE OF AMERICAN MUSIC ARTS.

Outside of Duke's orchestra w/Harry Carney, this is the ultimate legitimate homage to Ellington's tune--Ella's spontainiously chosen notes, along with those of her compatriot players are a timeless tribute to textbook excellence--Sadly, we'll never see again in the future.

wish i could find more songs by her like this. if i close my eyes i can imagine that i'm in heaven right now...

    j.... m....

You should be able to find many many slow songs sung by Ella Fitzgerald. Any slow song sung by Billie Holiday or Sarah Vaughan has probably been performed by Ella Fitzgerald. Mood Indigo is a great tune.
