Fishbone - Pouring Rain Lyrics
The sun will shine on brighter
And the wind will always blow
Some think life's a breeze
Others feel love is sin
I've found beauty in dancing stars
And you think that you can't feel pain?
And you think we can't feel at all
Can you sing out in the pouring rain
Can you sing, can you sing out
He had one foot in the gutter
Another on dry land
His ship sailed without him
Across life's burning sands
He cried out in the distance
And no one, no one heard a word
[Chorus]
And all the things I've said
And all these things
And all the things I've said
That you doubt and disbelieve
Are shoved back in your face
By the spite of mankind's greed
You choose to close you eyes
And the rest of the world will bleed
You choose to close your eyes
And the rest of the world will bleed
[Chorus]

All-time most dynamic, versatile, and underrated band. SO much fun live! Hi to Angelo. We had our pic taken with silly hats at The Gathering of the Vibes. 🎩

Easily the most underrated band ever, truly mindblowing live band, absolutely awesome, cheers from down under
Oh cawd I love this song!
Gene Kelly and Van Gogh. We are all of us in the gutter. Some of us are looking at the stars.
Phil Anselmo sent me!
FONKY!! Love that bass and the bridge is most unique..
So chill, so brilliant
Awesome groove.
bass....the final frontier
My introduction to Fishbone. :-)
I went to high school with some of them.
apparently there is no such thing as perfect. ..I disagree this is it ....xxxx
I agree, it is awesome. Love it, first heard in 91?
The best song a band at there best in the eighties ,nutty72x
note that the guitarist plays is the Bibi King
seen live in St Louis about 8 yrs ago still dope
A truly original and inspired classic album with beautiful production values.
and you think you can't feel pain
I saw them live in concert very cool.
I used to sing to this late at night in my chemistry lab when I was a student. As an English football commentator once said, "form is temporary but class is permanent". :)
Fishbone was amazing, i saw them in the early 90s live at the 40Watt Athens, was literally like watching the most amazing thing you've ever seen but no one seems to appreciate... Truely an artist not understood in their own time.

+cainnatwo was? IS!!!!! the band never stopped even if most of the guys left
I just saw them last week in DC and they played a blistering set, including this song. Best band ever.
*are* amazing. They're still around.
@fishbone3333 I wish I was there. I was them open for Parliament Funkadelic last night in Chicago and the sound at the venue was terrible. Also, their sat was rushed because they were sandwiched between two other inferior openers. Total head scratch why anyone would organize the performances like that. I have loved this song since I first heard it. It is easily in my top 3 Fishbone songs, and that is saying a lot! I hope I get to see them do a full show on their own some day.
Not 25.
Fishbone has been around for 35 years.
I saw them at the Palace Theater in Los Angeles in 1983. They were insanely talented, and way ahead of their time.
Love this song. The bass line on the pre-chorus is a thing to behold.
Drew Fleming Agreed man! those high notes are genius.

Amazing no doubt
But nothing ever came close to the 1st EP...
love this since way back, I remember playing wit g.i.joe's on the livingroom floor wit the smell of incent burning , grown ups playing spades.
This record simply doesn't age. I miss my 'Fuck Racism' shirt more than this record, 'In Your Face', and...a player for them both...
still got my old fishbone glow in the dark tshirt from like 15? years ago
Takes me back to my teens when this song gave me solace and hope. Thanks for sharing it again with/for us. Fishbone...the most underrated band of our time.
