Fishbone - Fight The Youth Lyrics

And now another story of stolen faith and tragic glory
They claim to be your friends but all the while they taunt you with lies
They tell you what to think and how to face the world around you
You never question what you know inside is lax and untrue

But take a look around
We're not running anymore
We're in the positive
But we're ready for the war...For the war

Fight the Youth--
The Youth with poisoned minds
Ignite the truth--
Restore sight to these blind
Fight the youth--
The youth with poisoned minds
And if they suffer it's no fault but their own

And every time I see the hatred that engulfs these children
It makes me wonder if the quest for peace will someday subside
I'm not afraid to wage the hopeless battles I must fight
For I could never lose, I know my cause shines in the light

Take a look around
We're not hiding anymore
Your weapon's cowardice
And we won't take it anymore...Anymore

And all the feelings of a generation fed with anger
Make all the choices for a future where all nightmares come true
I choose to fight for youth, to fight for truth, to fight for justice
I choose to heal the wounds of sacrifice made by the children

Does all of fishbone tour music videos have either stage dive or moshpit if so fucking awsome

  5. P.... M....

Never heard of them before.... and that‘s a frickin‘ shame!!!

  6. d.... j....

This era of Fishbone blew the dots off of all the rest of the "funk metal" genre. The original version blew the dots off the English ska-punk thing.

  7. f.... ....

Reality of My Surroundings should have launched this band into the stratosphere.

  8. R.... T....

Why do they cut off the end. Come on.

  9. D.... ....

This should have more than 10 million views easily !

  10. J.... J....

The reason this band never shot up to rock stardom was because they didn't sell their souls, but still came through with scratches and bruises.

  11. T.... L....

These guys were good. I did not like how the music industry treated these guys. As you know, the music industry mistreat any artist or band that refuses to sell their soul to the Illuminati.

  12. c.... h....

    Chris dowd sick vox

  13. B.... ....

  24. P.... C....

Energy to burn, unsurpassed, simply the best

  25. B.... S....

    POSITIVE !
    FISHBONE SOLDIER !

  26. R.... L....

At their peak, they were the best live band I had ever seen. Just could not get that big breakthrough record. They were on a major label but the promotion didn't seem to market them well.

  27. 7.... a....

It's a crime that this band was mostly ignored and forgotten. I just looked this one up out of the blue since I hadn't heard it in 25 years or so.

  28. M.... ....

Mos Def - Rock N Roll - brought me here

  29. R.... v....

Boom!! This is the very best.
Fishbone thank you very much for bringing your genious to the world. Listening to my favorites from the early 90's, like 24-7 spyz, living colour etc.., this band stands out because it's still outrageously good.

  30. d.... ....

    Fodastico

  31. c.... g....

    punk funk. phunk. pfffffffunk

  32. l.... ....

I feel like this song is more relevant now than when they first released it.

  33. B.... L....

what a band these cats go hard out hell yeah

  34. R.... S....

Just heard about these guys. They should be way more well-known.

  35. M.... G....

Holy shit, never heard Fishbone before today and now I know what I'm missing! These guys can PLAY...

  36. E.... N....

    <3 Fight! Bone Soldiers!

  37. F.... L....

Such a great song! And nowadays more relevant than ever!

  38. G.... G....

When this first came out in "my glory years", i thought and still do think, that they out did Living Colour, and everyone else so far, as far as hitting the balancing point of where "THE funk meets metal" . Absolutely relentless groovin energy.

  39. O.... B....

29 dont know what is cool music

  40. B.... ....

One of the greatest band ever that didn't get the true appreciation, adoration, and acclaim that they should have...

  41. U.... B....

A masterpiece.  One of the greatest songs ever written.  And I don't toss those words around lightly.

  42. P.... C....

Easily the best live band ever, simply the best ever

  43. A.... B....

It saddens me to think that Kendall Jones was the brains of this group and for some odd reason when he left the group the band went straight to nowhere which made me believe that there was a reason why he left you can collect conspiracy brainwash whatever.but let's face it had all these members stay together this by far would have been the baddest funkiest band that ever was put together

    A.... B....

Kendall, Chris Dowd, and Angelo Moore were the main songwriters. when Kendall left the songwriting went down a bit and so did their prospects.

  44. A.... B....

    It's that inns me

  45. E.... ....

"Fight the youth, the youth with poisoned minds"
    Song for Charlottesville

  46. M.... W....

At 62.they are the modern funkadellc to me.

  47. d.... ....

i love Fishbone and i love Pres Trump !!. Democratic youth have their minds poisoned by generations of being lied to by politicians,Trump is hated for telling the straight truth.Your letting your culture be invaded. They do not want b to coexist. They are now targeting your girls and children in Manchester.

    d.... ....

In mother russia, trolling pays you

  48. S.... J....

thanks beavis and butthead for introducing - top lads.

    S.... J....

    Yeah lol

  49. G.... ....

they...are...touring...again.!!!! I'm seeing them in march! holy shit I can't wait!!!

    G.... ....

    less than 2 weeks now...

  50. G.... ....

    they're touring again!!!!!!

  51. R.... B....

    Don't forget King's X!

  52. S.... A....

I think Sunless Saturday is about depression.

  53. C.... ....

    This shit so dank brah!

  54. M.... B....

i'm appalled at how today crappy rappers mumble and they have over 100 million views on mumbling and these talent brothers here with musical skills and talent never achieved higher status but then again there are more dummies out there than smart people!

    M.... B....

Robert C sorry, but if these video would've over 100m views, i'm pretty sure you wouldn't like it that much

    M.... B....

you're absolutely right on that. living colour was another great band also. there is no talent in todays music. everyone is out to make a quick buck.

    M.... B....

Fishbone, living colour and bad brains never get enough recognition and launguished. A shame black rock gets so little attention. For my ticket fishbone was beyond talented. RHCP amd fishbone should have risen together but the industry pushed the funky white boys foword and gave a curtain call to fish.

    M.... B....

Do you remember the movie Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey?
If you do this will make sense:
What happened was when De Nomolos time traveled to kill Bill and Ted he unintentionally created 2 universes one where Wyld Stallyns was successful and beat De Nomolos as we saw in the movie and the other one where Stallyns failed- this one, the one we are in right now, poop...
At least you can feel kind of good that in the other universe this probably did get 100 million views probably more because at that time they figured out how to communicate with pets, aliens, and houseplants so they watch youtube too.

    M.... B....

Saw them a couple of times, one of the best live bands I've ever seen

  55. c.... ....

Fishbone, Living Colour et Bad Brains même combat!

    c.... ....

.....and DEATH! They, along with another all-black punk ensemble the name of which escapes me at present, really got this ball rolling over 4 decades ago.....

  56. c.... ....

    Quelle énergie!

    c.... ....

    oui oui! Драйвовi хлопцi!

  57. G.... A....

Was at this gig many years ago...fantastic band

    T.... R....

+Tommy Rodgers Close friend of the Chili Peppers, both from Hollywood L.A.

  67. J.... D....

I'm in there somewhere. We broke off part of the flag and we were the ones using it as a trampoline near the back of the crowd. Can't see myself though. :( Fantasic gig, "Pray To the Junkiemaker" was almost a religious experience, if I wasnt an athiest. Had to sleep in Victoria train station overnight in the freezing October/november chill of London.

    J.... D....

+Jonny Davies keep an eye out for a new Angelo album... may 13th.. ropeadope records....

    J.... D....

+Jonny Davies I still have the flag, I took it to a recent gig in Bristol and they weren't 100% convinced because they thought it was too small. I only have the round middle bit and it is quite small the flag was mostly red bit

    J.... D....

Jonny Davies they're coming to Pittsburgh in march..I can't fucking believe I'm going to get to see them!!!

    J.... D....

Ha--Atheists can have religious experiences too,Jonny--just depends on The Church In The Wild , and The Mothership Connection it rode in on. Like Bo Diddley said 'Now HooDoo ya Love?'

  68. J.... E....

Still one of the best gigs I've ever been to!! Remember holding the corner of the flag and getting booted in the face by one of the band. Good times!!

  69. r.... k....

the horn arrangments are killier, the P funk horns should have been taken notes! can you hear me DR.funkenstine?

  70. F.... B....

They shot this video at a gig at the old Astoria London. I was there. Still the best gig I've ever been to, and I've been to my share :)

  71. R.... e....

    Not long enough!

  72. m.... g....

God it makes me go coocoo it might be the ganja

  73. S.... ....

Am I the only one a bit weird out by the Christian overtones?

    S.... ....

@***** Also, I'm not sure fighting the rebellious nature of the "youth with poisoned minds" and preparing for war is a good message. It just seems ignorant too me.

But yeah, the beat is nice.

    S.... ....

@***** Yeah, the 90's were huge into the war on drugs. Funny how today, you can openly walk around with some pot and no one cares.

    S.... ....

+SSmotzer Wow, you all could not be completely misinterpreting this song any more if you tried. You should maybe, read the actual lyrics, or learn the 1st thing about Fishbone. There aren't any christian overtones, there is certainly no anti-drug stance, they are talking about a youth that's ideologically poisoned, and and ideological (not the ACTUAL) war that America was in the midst of. You've got to remember, this stuff came out in the midst of Bush Sr.s Presidency, after 10 years of Republican rule in the midst of the 1st gulf war.

    S.... ....

+De Ka Freddie's Dead was anti drug. Listen to what they said on Soul Train and yeah they hated the Republicans. They reference their song Ugly to Reagan. Definitely one of the if not the most underrated bands of all time.

  74. M.... C....

Welcome to Rock al Parque, Bogotá

  75. M.... V....

Beavis and Butthead brought me here!
    Awesome song!

    M.... V....

That's there I first heard of Fishbone but it was 1993.

    M.... V....

    Same here, awesome band!

    M.... V....

I love how even they were like.. Why don't these guys get more publicity?

    M.... V....

Marko Vuletic :) Me too. I subscribe.

    M.... V....

Beavis n butthead helped a lot of underground artist get known is that right!!

  76. T.... O....

Liked...but isn't this just studio recorded with fan audio dubbed in? Do not approve as a general practice...

  77. R.... e....

Yet another fantastic band who is little known.  Sad, just sad.

    R.... e....

You should listen to a band called CHON, really amazing band to listen to!

    R.... e....

    +Lindsay Glenn we know!

    R.... e....

Not for the masses. Not in this world. You wouldn't want them around anyway.

    R.... e....

    not little known

  78. S.... Z....

    Such a great song.

  79. H.... O....

    Great music.

  80. L.... ....

fishbone is not metal. try punk or grunge.

  81. S.... R....

    Yes...ohh yes...deep and cleansing

  82. T.... G....

I REALLY love the Fishbone songs where you can hear Kendall's heavier influence.

  83. S.... M....

seriously i think this is one of the best songs ever

  84. M.... F....

we been around a long time. It's just now more excepted is all I've loved them when I was a little kid and now I love them so much more. They helped me see the world through my own expectations and not just what's expected of you.

  85. R.... e....

Did tequila shots with Angelo and Walter at Toad's place. Angelo was wearing his hemp suit. Niiiiice!

  86. f.... ....

The most bad-ass band ever assembled.

  87. D.... 9....

Mirrors got me out the pool job_

  88. B.... E....

I knew there was black ppl in recent 20 years heavy metal... Im a blk woman n am a metal head , ROCK ON!!!!!!!

  89. V.... L....

    These guys rock.

  90. s.... k....

    THIS ROCKS

  91. d.... ....

    Beavis and butthead

  92. b.... ....

    Pure butter. My favourite.

  93. s.... ....

I was there too! Filmed at London Astoria 21/10/91. My first ever gig - and what an unforgettable gig it was. I remember they passed that massive flag out over the crowd and told us not to damage it - the thing was ripped to shreds by the time they finished the song. Heheh.

  94. R.... ....

You missed the part where people can't think for themselves and would rather just complain until someone does everything for them.

  95. v.... s....

    kicks asses

  96. D.... ....

I was there, London Astoria. It's still the most incredible live show I have ever seen. And I've seen a few.

  97. a.... ....

    To mythKid1208: Y not?

  98. J.... A....

    and u know that!!!!!!!!
