So when I watched this today the ad afterwards was for Carlos Santana's Masterclass. I usually skip ads, and I have no intention of signing up for whatever the ad is selling, but I was willing to let the ad play and listen to Carlos Santana talk about playing guitar. At one point he mentions the importance of "guitar face" to musicianship, and I thought that was relevant to Samantha. She is never afraid to make whatever facial expression is necessary to bend the string to exactly the right place, which is a critical part of all guitar playing but especially the blues.

I just discovered this amazing lady and feel quite smug about it, haha! I am 70. I grew up in California and was lucky enough to know some of the great rock legends who have since passed on. Sam could definitely hold her own with any of them. I am a singer and she is definitely a singer's singer. She is quite versatile. And of course then there is her amazing guitar... oh my YEAH.

She had a new band with horns etc. Once she took off the high heels, she returned to her old self and tore up the stage ! great show.

I heard this song on the radio last night from a station out of Bristol!!!! Been a fan of Samantha for a couple years now and I was TOTALLY FLOORED when I heard it on the radio. Driving down the road grinning like a kid on Christmas morning. Ready to see this girl make it big time!!

Okay, having said what i just did below, now i cannot get this song
out of my head!
I think my musical brain likes it, but my guitar brain wants more grit.

I do not understand this move into loungey Amy Winehouse territory.
Samantha is a white-hot blues guitar demon, that can tear your head off in a live setting.
They should be capturing that on record, in my opinion.
She has a decent voice, but capitalize on her six string skill.
Don't push it into the background.

i was thinking the same thing. id rather see her do the badass live blues thing. seems like some corporate dudes got a hold of her and are pushing the winehouse angle cause it sells better than blues.

From what I've read, she's done exactly what you're saying on all her previous albums, this one was meant to not hide her voice behind her "white-hot blues guitar" playing. But yeah, with the first couple seconds I was thinking "Amy Winehouse" but hey, why not have Samantha pick up the baton for a different sound for this album. Just add it to the mix she's offering. ;^)

I will admit I was a little disappointed with the new album im not a fan of horns even when Black Sabbath did it😖,but Samantha shows us more of her incredible skills and tried to branch out and test the waters of something new and im sure she has found new followers of her music so i applaud her for it👏but this doesn't mean I will just dismiss the new album there was one song I did like so i say congrats to you young lady maybe ur next album u can dabble into some Zeppelin,Sabbath ,The Tea Party styling either way keep on rocking miss Samantha Fish!🤙🏼

I'm 70 years old and have been a blues fan for most of my life. Being a blues fan does not close the door on genres of music for me. Although this song may not be classified as a blues song to many of you, I feel it made the cut. I have been following this talented young lady for some time now and this song only shows me the flexibility she has to offer us. Over the years I have seen many many "Big Stars" do covers of blues songs away from their popular field of music and do fantastic jobs at it. Just because someone strays does not mean they are abandoning their fans. I grew up listening to all genres of music and still do. If a person will only do the same they will discover that each one has an influence on the other. Blues has had the greatest influence of all on the others. I'm rambling on now. All I'm saying is let this young lady spread her wings as far as she can and I will bet that everyone will be satisfied.
