I have been studying their lyrics. If they were to broaden their reading delving into the real atheists (instead of the timid moderns) like Bertrand Russell, Friedrich Nietzsche, Albert Camus, they'd find there is no "Silver Lining." Darwinian imperatives run by blind matter is a bleak and hopeless outlook for the human race. There can be no ""I try to do right what is wrong" or " These shackles I've made in an attempt to be free." Free from what? You cannot be free in a world of determinism, there is no such thing as love either, only natural selection/ cerebral bio chemistry. Typical post enlightenment Occident thinking, a steady diet of Freud, Marx, and Darwin with pseudo meaning found in faith by science. They sure are brilliant singers though, I'd love to play drums for them.

All creatures and animals (including humans) have an EVOLVED sence of morality. To suggest we are above animals is rather arrogant. When was the last time you saw animals going to war, killing millions of it's own species. No, only humans do that. Religion in some cases, helps this process nicely.
We don't need some drivel written by primitive men to be morel. If one was to truly derive their morals from the bible it would be a blood bath. Don't forget Jesus said nothing shall pass from the law. So if someone worked on the sabbath, you would have to stone them to death.

Asmuch as those religions who baptize their followers believe that the simple act of baptism makes a Christian out of a non-Christian, it is just simply not true. Just because your parents or guardians chose a religion for you and bestowed it upon you does not make you something you are not. Especially if you were baptized without choosing it for yourself. You can say you were brought up as a Christian, but if you don't feel in your heart that you believe in Christianity, you are not Christian.

Your are obviously a Catholic Christian, whose parents didn't practice their faith. Sad. But, that doesn't make Christianity false. Do your homework! You were given a great gift and you don't appreciate it.
