Finn, Neil - Souvenir Lyrics

Don't ask the question
You won't like the answer
Get up off your chair
There's nothing for you here

Where the guests like souvenirs
They play with you 'till you're all worn out
Back where the guests like souvenirs

Prison color blue
It's a uniform of choice
Count yourself lucky
That you don't write the software

Where the guests like souvenirs
They play with you 'till you're all worn out
Back where the guests like photographs
They hope you had a good night

Loosen up your tie
Make the viewers cry
I cannot pretend to cry

Memorise by heart
Every single part
There's nothing for you here

Where the guests like souvenirs
They play with you 'till you're all worn out
Back where the guests like souvenirs
They hope you had a good night

Kiwi McCartney. A finer and more consistent songwriter you would be hard pressed to uncover

shaunone , far better than McCartney, Lennon was the song writing force behind the Beatles, pauls solo stuffs shite in my opinion.

@bollocknaked1975 Lennon and McCartney were both amazingly gifted .John and Paul were fantastic songwriters !Paul is still pretty prolific !

Definitely, bro. Apt comparison because their music is even about similar themes & they explore many of the same ideas, although I like Neil's guitar work better; it's more dynamic.

I think it is fairly conclusive John & Paul were far more prolific & dynamic when they were with the Beatles than afterwards. John's solo stuff was so pretentious & a lot of Paul's stuff, especially with Wings, is just Beatles-Lite. It's one of those rare occasions where as a band they were more inventive & experimental than when they went off on their own. Even George & Ringo's contributions to the Beatles were more impressive than their other projects.

Conversely, Neil has been, at least developmentally so, a vital catalyst to both Split Enz & Crowded House's success & going solo wasn't a break from that success but rather a continuation of it. While one could say he has largely remained a sort of folk-rock mainstay whereas the Beatles branched into virtually every genre, he delivers time & time again & live he is still just as electric as always.

I also like that when performing it, he gives a different take on it every time, like other good live performers such as Tommy Emmanuel. Sure, people like their recorded stuff, but you aren't going to a concert to hear a studio recording, you want to have an experience & he never disappoints.
