Finger Eleven - Famous Lyrics
Wait if everything's going great
Can you remember a day to tell?
If someone should wish you well
Then there's a narrow chance
All I want from you my dear friend
I could show you how
And you say you've got that feeling again
It won't be long enough
But it may never end I know
Wait I thought I had something to say
I will remember someday
Fate found you buckling under the weight
And you thought you would last
All I got from you my dear friend
I don't ever want
But you look so bitter
Who are you?
Are you famous?
Important?
Don't stop that glitter
All I wanted from you
Is all forgotten for you

Finger Eleven Famous Comments
Favorite track from a truly incredible album. I could play it on loop like nothing.
I've been a huge fan of Finger Eleven since I was 15 years old (I'm 28 now). When I heard this song it was 2015 (I was 24), I remember I was abandoning my old self, I was overcoming a lot of fears, a lot of insecurities. I was feeling different and my surroundings were feeling it too. I was becoming a new person, a new being. I was feeling "Famous".
one of the best thanks
Hot damn this album was good!
One of the best CD's I've ever purchased. Still love it today!! Definitely an underrated band much like I Mother Earth! Not because I'm Canadian. I call a spade a spade.
The chorus is beautiful, this band could have really been something, but I guess they found success in the direction they went. Let's be real, if we had an opportunity to make a ton of money, we'd all take it, despite unfortunate sacrifices.
The first song I heard from this band was "Living in a Dream" but when I listened to their whole album that's where I found the real treasure
Does somebody know in what gender do i have to put finger eleve (rock, metal, alternative, etc)
LMAOOOO "gender"
Hard rock/alternative metal/nu metal
I would say rock mostly. First time in my opinion is their best track because that's what got me hooked. Quicksand live in St. Catherine's Ontario has a guitar riff/solo that could be defined as metal. Fuck, what do I know. Killer track and video. Cheers😎
Don't mean to be an ass, but I see you typed gender when you meant genre. I am ass.
All of the above answers are correct, but here's some more information:
Their first three albums are specifically post-grunge, which exactly as it sounds was a movement that took grunge and presented it in a sleeker more "radio friendly" package although as Finger Eleven has shown that obviously isn't a negative thing. You could also pretty safely categorize many of their songs from this era as nu metal, itself a bit of an umbrella term for radio friendly hard rock and metal with an experimental slant. If you search for music in either of those genres you'll probably find a lot of stuff that is similar to early Finger Eleven, although it will of course all be inferior to their work because duh.
Their next two albums really dropped a lot of the heavier elements and pushed more into that generic and hard to categorize realm of "alternative rock," although they did notably introduce a lot of dance rock elements and remained fairly experimental. I'm not really sure how you would accurately search for bands similar to this era, you'd probably have to go on a song-by-song basis.
Finally their last album switched gears yet again to put them firmly into the realm of desert rock. So depending on which Finger Eleven song in particular you're looking for more music in the style of you should search for bands in some combination of the post-grunge, nu metal, alternative rock, dance rock and desert rock genres. Then just listen to Finger Eleven instead since most other bands in these genres aren't as good as them anyway.
What does the chorus mean to you?
And you say you've got that feeling again
-> I imagine this to be referring to a conversation about a break up
It won't be long enough
-> The relationship will not be as long as he hoped
But it may never end I know
-> But his feelings may never end
I think....you are correct.
Or the high of being famous. Like a drug.
I love fact that all the songs in this album can be interpreted in so many ways
I think it leads to everyone's "15 minutes of fame"...we all experience it at some point and at that very moment it could be all over kinda like this band...or it continues on.
amazing song !
i still have my "the greyest of blue skies" album
@pilarvistaYsonido I wish I did. I used the CD so much that it was unreadable. I'm gonna go on amazon and buy another.
FINGER ELEVENS OLDER ALBUMS = SOOOOOOO underrated that its a shame!
yes the grayset of blue skies there only good album
Best album by far. The self-titled album was the last good one and it's been downhill after that.
I discovered this band from drag you down. Left me with an epic impression!
Epic Canadian Music!!
you discovered this band by one thing lmao talk about late I discovered this band from First Time.
Trevor Tobin Now listen here young man, i was listening to this band when they were walking around in their circles.
I'm so fucking glad I discovered this band from "One thing" rather than "Paralyzer" lol fuck that song
I totally agree with you, Jmswlks. Their self titled cd back in '03 was their last good cd. Since then, it's been nothing but crap. I was one who would say back then that I'd like anything they would release, but they proved me wrong. I'm all for change and trying new things and experimenting with new sounds, but not when the sound is crap and you keep releasing it. I miss the old F11.
I think the thing is, F11 got a whiff of success when One Thing became their breakthrough single. Not wanting to be a one-hit wonder, they make a crappy album full of songs that were sure to reach the chart (I'll give Paralyzer credit for being catchy but I've never been a fan of the song)
@supermansattack I agree they just sell records now and there soul with every bull shit pop song they make..can't blame em though they had there day. I can't even stand there new stuff i was die hard into them before.
@princeofchaos7 condenser is from 'Tip'
this and condenser are the best songs on the album
Condenser is not on this album
*shrug*
I'll agree that the mood and feelings of these songs are more appealing than their newer songs, but I like them all the same.
man, they used tp be so amazing...
they're shit now :l
LMAOOOO
Veronica jane - YOU are SHIT!!
I need the live version of this!!! i cant find it
