Fallon, Brian - Silence Lyrics

Yeah, I'd rather be a lover than a fighter
'Cause all my life I've been fighting
I never felt a feeling of comfort
All this time I've been hiding
I never had someone to call my own
I'm so used to sharing
And loving never gave me a home
So I'll sit here in the silence

I found peace in your violence
Can't show me there's no point in trying
I'm not one, and I've been quiet so long
And I found peace in your violence
Can't show me there's no point in trying
I'm not one, and I've been quiet so long

I've been quiet so long
I've been quiet so long

Now I'm in need of a savior
But I'm not asking for favors
My whole life I've felt like a burden
I think too much and I hate it
I'm so used to being in the wrong
I'm tired of caring
Loving never gave me a home
I'm at one with the silence

I found peace in your violence
Can't show me there's no point in trying
I'm not one, and I've been quiet so long
And I found peace in your violence
Can't show me there's no point in trying
I'm not one, and I've been quiet so long

I've been quiet so long
I've been quiet so long

And I found peace in your violence
Can't show me there's no point in trying
I'm not one, and I've been quiet so long

My dad loves this music and so do I

Just give Brian your lunch money, Khalid!

  4. R.... D....

The original is terrible, they should sign over all rights to Brian and make like this is the only version. He fixed this song perfectly

100%. I heard this version before the original, and when I found out it was a cover, I looked it up. Got through about 30 seconds before I shut it off. Mainstream trash, I’d have never given this song a second chance if I’d heard the original first.

    R.... D....

instead of calling the original terrible maybe you should realize that Brian Fallon clearly thought it was good enough for a cover, often a 'shitty mainstream' song can have good lyrics or interesting themes, this cover just exhibits
the merits the song already had

I Didn't think I could love this song anymore! Then Brain does this! :)

    Beautiful cover

My husband and I absolutely love his music and never disappoints. Another amazing tune. On repeat.

Terrlynn Pusher I love his music too but this is a cover, I’m not sure why he didn’t credit the artists - marshmello and Khalid

Is this a cover or original song?

awaitingdisaster17 cover. Original is by Khalid

Joey McCredie Oh okay, knew it sounded familiar

The wife and I have listened to sleepwalkers religiously even before it was released. To see him finally put out a track with political significance is mind blowing, and this one was quite well done. I suppose he felt he had been "silent for too long."

    Nicholas Maxwell Its a cover.

    N.... M....

Nicholas Maxwell I think you may be reading too much into it. Although you are free to interpret it in any way you like. That’s what I like best about many of his songs, the ability to make them your own. Have you hear gaslights version of Songs for Teenagers? I thought that was an original for the longest time.

    N.... M....

Luke Batz I had already known it was a cover. I have listened to most of his content, especially gaslight and the horrible crowes. He just doesn't make too many covers or originals with political significance. That was all I was getting to convey.

    N.... M....

    How is this song political?

Beautiful! Love it! Thank you Brian for your music!
