Falling Up - Flora Lyrics

I ride all night under the neon bend
Into the bluing light of the core
The ship went up into the water rings
and the earth sings, and the earth sings

So they walk on water, so they take your eyes
Then they call you daughter, then they hypnotize you
Then they fall like lightning out across your bedroom walls

Now they’re moving down the hallways
And they’re hiding in the night shade
And they’re waiting in the dream places
Now they’re coming down the hallways

Run down there on the moonlight stairs
And you are calling my name
Cold and creaking, the kitchen sink
And you are calling my name
Just beyond the silver lawn
The fog sits on the lake
So pass the poison and hear those voices
And they’re all calling my name

Take shelter now into the underground
Lie on the wooden floors in the dark
And hold your breath, reach for their hands you left
Reach for their hands, somehow reach for their hands

But it’s too late father, you have come too late
It’s your son and daughter, and your daughter’s fate
She is moving on to where the gully’s deep in green and golden glades

Now they’re moving down the hallways
And they’re hiding in the night shade
And they’re waiting in the dream places
Now they’re coming down the hallways

Run down there on the moonlight stairs
And you are calling my name
Cold and creaking, the kitchen sink
And you are calling my name
Just beyond the silver lawn
The fog sits on the lake
So pass the poison and hear those voices
And they’re all calling my name

Now they’re moving down the hallways
And they’re hiding in the night shade
And they’re waiting in the dream places
Now they’re coming down the hallways

Then he made a circle with his shaking hands
Then he built a chamber made of glass
So then he could see the wires from the blurry lens
Then he used a current so the spins began
Then she rose like fire, then she rose again,
Then she turned her eyes to see the ship’s fins
They are rising upward to the ring again...

Run down there on the moonlight stairs
And you are calling my name
Cold and creaking, the kitchen sink
And you are calling my name
Just beyond the silver lawn
The fog sits on the lake
So pass the poison and hear those voices
And they’re all calling my name

Falling Up Flora Comments

This is Falling Up. This is a living song. An adventure with every listen. Brilliant.

  2. A.... ....

I'm gonna be paying my respects to this awesome band and use this song for my comic 🙏

  3. T.... ....

For those who are sad about this being Falling Up's last album and NEED MORE, consider checking out Gloomcatcher and Northern Abbey. The first is a solo project by the main singer and has a vibe very similar to Falling Up's music, and Northern Abbey is a project by Falling Up's guitarist, which strays a bit more from the vibe Falling Up has.

  4. M.... B....

    This song is perfection

  5. D.... U....

if this was their last album they had to end with a bang. in this case thousand nukes.

  6. L.... N....

I thought the song was ending, and then it wasn’t!!! I love it!

  7. M.... L....

Life feels incomplete without super deep music narratives like this, if I have the $$'s I'd finance their next album myself ;)

    M.... L....

    OMG same

  8. N.... T....

fantastic album....only just discovered this band.and damn they split up!!!!

  9. I.... ....

Where was I and what was I doing.. in 2015

  10. S.... I....

    what is this song about?

  11. S.... R....

could someone tell me what sign is in the window...

  12. J.... S....

    masterpiece

  13. K.... L....

This is a great song! (Ascendant Stranger's cover was amazing, though)

  14. T.... D....

How exciting would it be to be in a theatre and they played one of Falling Up's songs at the end?!

  15. B.... ....

This is my favorite album out of them all... so sad there won't be any more

  16. T.... D....

This is my greatest to least Falling Up albums list:
    1. Hours
    2. Your Sparkling Death Cometh
    3. Falling Up
    4. Captiva
    5. Dawn Escapes
    6. Midnight On Earthship
    7. Fangs!
    8. Crashings
(This is discluding their remix, instrumental and Christmas albums. Also Your Sparkling Death Cometh and Falling Up are super close so they they could bounce back and forth between 2 and 3. Also, I love all their albums. Very close all together as well.)

    T.... D....

I disagree strongly. The best was
    1. Dawn Escapes
    2. Crashings
    3. Captiva
    4. Falling Up
    5. Hours
The rest of the albums can be beautiful, but they are subpar when you consider that they left off from the style and sound that made them great to begin with.

    T.... D....

    Strongly disagree with Remy.
    1. YSDC
    2. Self Titled
    3. Fangs!
    4. Hours
    5. Mnemos/House Full of caverns.

Everything else isn't bad, but they reached a level in their music that only few achieve from Fangs! Forward.

    T.... D....

Remy Lebeau I do like that harder rock that they began with and I miss it at times, however that sounded similar to other bands at that time. Their sound later was the most unique I’ve ever listened to.

    T.... D....

Zach Bean That’s a good list but I don’t see how you could put Hours behind Fangs!. Hours still might be the best thing I’ve ever listened to. And listening to the audiobook that went along with it, made it that much better. Fangs! really grew on me A LOT, but I get bored of some songs from it at times. Also, I think the instrumentals drag on a bit too long in that album. The instrumentals in the other albums feel more necessary to me.

    T.... D....

Weird I didn’t see these comments earlier.

  17. M.... ....

I'm so sad this is their last :(

  18. S.... ....

woww..this is an awsome song!..the music is great!

  19. T.... D....

So many Falling Up songs could be used as ending songs to movies.

    T.... D....

Jim Chumley Haha. Yeah. But Falling Up makes a lot of soundtrack-esque songs. It would be just perfect. I would probably jump with excitement if it ever happened.

    T.... D....

Jessy (the frontman) is doing soundtrack now for a movie-in-progress, Gold Dust.

    T.... D....

Tehufn Well I would hope they would be in a more mainstream movie one day, but the fact that Jessy’s actually doing that stuff seriously now gets my hopes higher. Even if it’s not a Falling Up song, any one of his creations would be awesome as well. Also, I don’t know why I’m not notified of some of these comments. Just saw yours now.

    T.... D....

Jim Chumley It’s cool that more Bible-based movies are becoming a thing now though. I just hope with all the backlash with the inaccuracies in them, makes them MORE accurate going forward.

    T.... D....

    Tehufn But that’s nice!

  20. T.... D....

My top two favourite bands are Falling Up and Skillet.

    T.... D....

+TOP10 Productions (Official) Haha. I actually have like almost all of Red's music. I still like Falling Up and Skillet a bit more. Red has some pretty awesome songs though. They're one of my favourite bands as well. But part of the reason, they're not at the very top for me is a lot of their music sounds the same or very similar and their lyrics are a little too vague. I think they play it safe a little too much with their lyrics. But they still have a ton of talent.

    T.... D....

@Talon Diwisch Yeah, they are very vague and some of their songs aren't too great... They certainly have an interesting concept of 'Christian music.' They're still pretty great though, and I'd have to disagree with you in that many of their music sounds the same. They have a pretty good variety.

    T.... D....

+TOP10 Productions (Official) I think they have fairly good variety, just not as much as Falling Up or Skillet or some other bands I know. A good example is comparing Falling Up and Skillet’s old music to their new music. It has changed quite drastically over the years. Red’s new stuff still sounds like their old stuff fairly to me. Also, another big part of it is John Coopers voice. It’s so epic sounding and unique at the same time and their songs are just crazy epic as well. And Falling Up I just love because to me, they’re the most unique band I’ve ever heard by far. And they’re also not afraid to use the words God, Jesus, etc when they want to. Too many Christian Rock bands don’t do that anymore. It’s refreshing to see Falling Up still do it every now and then.

    T.... D....

Not many bands are piano keyboard driven which i find awesome with Falling Up

    T.... D....

    Jim Chumley Yeah. That's awesome.

  21. S.... A....

Wow....Mae, and now them calling it quits??? Sad.

  22. B.... P....

I like this album but I REALLY like their acoustic ep. Have all their albums except their first one.

  23. F.... ....

Wow! Easily my favorite track off of the album. Thank you falling up for blessing us with this beautiful, powerful moving album from start to finish. So sad this will be their last album. Peace.

  24. R.... B....

    Such a beautiful album. :-)

  25. C.... A....

Can I just go ahead and say that this last album might possibly be my favorite of anything they've ever put out? SO GOOD!

    C.... A....

+Liberty Hoffman Hey people; MAYBE A FUTURE MOVIE! FEATURING ALL THEIR SONGS. From the sound of it all a triology like The Lord Of The Rings by Tolkein

    C.... A....

Jim Chumley It would be awesome to have them in a future Chronicles of Narnia movie since they still have like 4 movies to do.

    C.... A....

I think the same thing all the time lol. But then I think about it and I really like the mystery that all of their albums have. I think that's one of the reason's I like them as a band so much.

    C.... A....

    YEEEEEEEES

    C.... A....

    Mine too. Incredible album.

  26. C.... M....

Might be my favorite track off the new album.

    C.... M....

It's definitely in my Top 3. It's so hard to pick though.

    C.... M....

This and Rangers are my favorite :) but man they're all so good!

    C.... M....

Coleten McGuire My current fav :) it started out with In the Woodshop and then Rangers but theyre def my top three lol

    C.... M....

It's really good, although all of them are 9/10 so it's really not fair for reviewers.
