Falling Up - Flares Lyrics
One by one, all the years will pass you
And you will see the flame start to die
And you know, that all the things they asked you
Started making sense about the lies
Someone has a figuring mind
And you know that all of us are with you
If you have a hiding place in mind
And they lit a fire, they are coming down there
And they lit a fire, they will come to find you
If it leads to lies, they will come to find you when you’re old
One by one, they will start to pass you
You will see your legs start to slow
They’re thinner than we’d all hope to know
And they lit a fire, they are coming down there
And they lit a fire, they will come to find you
If it leads to lies, they will come to find you when you’re old
And they lit a fire, they are coming down there
And they lit a fire
Oh, they will find her
But I don’t know the man
Because they’re all liars
And they lit a fire, they are coming down there
And they lit a fire, they will come to find you
If it leads to lies, they will come to find you when you’re old
Let them know that you can float
Turn around and rise up

Is a better ending in which ive heard this whole time
where can a brother buy this on CD? Amazon nor Ebay have it to my knowledge/research
Love this band so much you have no idea it tears me up
I feel u
Has anyone truly figured out the story of this full album? I’ve got various theories and seem to have pinned most of the characters and a very general story arch, but there seems to be no one anywhere fleshing it all out.
Jaasau I think the band mentioned that it’s kids living in a house or something like that.
I feel that they are speaking on their faith and intimate relationship with God. A Vibrant relationship with God is not easy in this world, and if you close your end(old) and people who don't believe see you not living according to the His word that you speak, they will believe that we have only confirmed their suspicion and we are liars.
I think every song is speaking on their faith, but that is an awesome thing that we hear it differently. Idk how to explain that.
+Sean Christian Well I don’t know if anything in these lyrics talk about faith. At least not in God. Other songs such as ones from Your Sparkling Death Cometh I definitely think do though.
Falling up is know for using stories to represent their faith in Jesus Christ. In the past 3 or 4 albums there has been a story being told.
Id say there are plenty of God based songs on this album. It can be taken in context of the story or just a straightforward message. The insect is one of those songs. It is so beautifully done to represent that will be with us no matter what. It could also be used a part of the overall narrative of the album. That's why it's so amazing. Imo
I just think this album specifically doesn’t have songs about God. You can relate them to faith and God if you want. I think there are some elements of faith possibly, but I don’t think that was the band’s intent with THIS specific album.
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
And he hath put a *new song in my mouth*, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.
Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
(Psalms 40:1-4)
What's everyone's favourite Falling Up album? Mine's probably either this one, Hours or Your Sparkling Death Cometh. But then behind that is Captiva.
Dawn Escapes, this one, and Crashings
Talon Diwisch- fangs.
nice avatar. demon hunter is the best
Wow. Didn’t know I had replies to this comment til now. Don’t see how Crashings is people’s favourite though when their newer stuff is much more unique. Good, Christian lyrics in Crashings though.
This album. Followed by YSDC
This would be a perfect end credits song to a movie. Some other songs by theirs would be great as well.
*sniff* Something about the end of this song makes me super depressed. It feels like the band is saying goodbye to us fans, and as the song comes to an end I start crying. :(
Bishieluver01 the song brings me to tears as well. every single time.
So this is it. Farewell Falling Up, you blessed us with many great albums and superb songs. Thank you!
