Faithfull, Marianne - Come My Way Lyrics

The wild mountain thyme that grows around my door
Has grown there for two score years or more
And I've grown weary waiting for love to say
"Come my way, come my way"

The brook that sings and twinkles in the sun
Has danced this mercy dance since time begun
But o how weary and how long the day will he say
"Come my way"

Lovers all around, I wish you joy
Happiness to every girl and boy
But sometimes spare a thought of me and say
"Love come her way," come my way

Really shows how different her voice was before the drugs

This fragil singing bird. Life can be brutal Looking out at the terrible cold and whining winds and the small birds looking at me thanking for their food

This LP was quite prophetic. Many men in the music business in the 1960s did indeed cum her way. In fact, it would probably rarer to find one who hadn't.

I remember this being on an album I had in my teens ( now sadly no longer ). A beautiful, haunting and plaintive song. And oh yes I was a major Marianne Faithfull wannabe ( as were many teenage blonde during those years haha! )in those days --- in part because of the beautiful songs in her albums. She instilled in me a love for the wonderful British folk music and introduced me to Child ballads.

@crazedwitch2 You're right Carol. After I posted my comment, I went to my music library and played Wild Mountain Time and realized my error. What threw me was the opening line of this song...It mentions Wild mountain Time (Thyme). Thanks for posting great music on YT.

I think on her SUMMER NIGHTS LP this was called Wild Mountain Time...I love this version too.
