Failure - Dirty Blue Balloons Lyrics

I got high on scrapings from my nails
now I'm back down
my eyes are growing dark
my burnt spoon has dried beneath the bed
and I'm dreaming of dirty blue balloons

I've waited so long without you
I've waited too long for you

he came in, he didn't speak my language
I paid him with everything I had
and promised next time he opened up his mouth
and then they floated out dirty blue balloons

I've waited so long without you
I've waited too long for you

I've waited so long without you
I've waited too long for you

nothing helps and no one else
can make it feel okay
float me through the day
nothing helps and no one else
can make it feel alright
float me through the night
I can not let 'em go
dirty blue balloons

Saw them play this live at the House of Blues in Dallas, the crowd went fucking nuts when they played the solo.

  19. Isaac Booker

I love playing this on guitar but that solo, I haven't got the sightliest idea how to do.

    TheZooropaBaby

+Isaac Booker probably not unless you can get your acoustic to feedback crazily for some reason

    Isaac Booker

Good point haha, I actually tried and succeed in kinda mimicking such a solo with the acoustic guitar.

    MrNewembassy

+Isaac Booker Step 1. Lose your fucking mind! Ha ha! Such barely restrained insanity!

    Mr. Nazareth

I have a feeling that first part the ey turn down the volume on the guitar real quickly

    Michael Lavin

It's a controlled mess, musically, and fits the song well. You need a heavily distorted, with a slow phaser, bridge pick up style approach to it. The notes are simple but out of typical scales because it needs to sound messy for the context of the song.

  20. Shomo Sen

Totally. I'll come with you. Let's kick his ass.

  21. Jordan McCleeary

this song describes so many times ive had thank god thats the past now...sketchy shit...dont regret anything i can honestly say

    Clayton Eugene

Jordan McCleeary praise the lord the most high God

    Heavy-Karma-Debt

IMO the Supreme Super Consciousness Summit that is the Infinite Spiritual Realm's Invisible Universe Godhead is the most high God.

Holy crapola!! Is that Ken A. posting?!?! I'm 40, so officially uncool, but have listened to FP since it came out. One of my favorite records. Compares to anything from the grunge era, punk era, or classic rock genre. The type that I save for road trips, or when I need some emotional catharsis. Ken if you come to Denver I hope I can check it out. Peace.
