Fabulous Thunderbirds, The - Full-Time Lover Lyrics

Well, I found me
Yes, I found me a full-time lover
Well, I found me
Yes, I found me a full-time lover
Well, she used to be my part-time woman
But she's my full-time lover now

Well, I work the graveyard shift
Seven days a week
I'm so downhearted
I can't hardly even speak
I'll tell you the reason
The reason why I feel this way
I can't find a full-time love
Yes, but I think I found one today

Well, I found me
Lord, I found me a full-time lover
Well, she used to be my part-time girl, man
But she's my full-time lover now

Well, people you don't know
You don't know the shape I'm in
I ask her where she's goin'
She tells me where she's been
She came home last night
Thought she'd be goin' back out the door
Then she told me "Baby
I ain't leavin' you no more"

Well, I found me
Lord, I found me a full-time lover
Well, she used to be my part-time girl, man
But she's my full-time lover now

Leave your BOOTS ON..r you with me? Kim Wilson is a terrific solo singer and can play that Harmonica when need be....Jimmie Vaughan is great on his strat and striking every cord and keeping the Beat..terrific band ..wow..Can I leave my Hat On..just sayin! Phenominal music and it's a Slow rhythem to Boot..oh yeah..Jimmie is coming out of his Caterpillar mold....He is guitar slinging..great entertainment ..

Love them Fabulous Thunderbirds and especially Jimmie Vaughan 🎸 This is a GREAT VIDEO! 😎👍👍🍺🍺

  4. l.... ....

Stevie Ray (proudly): "That's my big brother on guitar."

  5. P.... D....

Best Jimmie Vaughan I’ve ever heard

  6. P.... D....

Great band, Kim used to look like a 1980’s coke dealer 😀

  7. v.... F....

    Kim is a great singer

  8. T.... B....

This jaw-dropping live version rips the recorded one (which was pretty darn fantastic as well) to shreds. Jimmie is on absolute fire here. For fans of slow blues that burn, it's pretty near impossible to top this.

  9. m.... ....

Super cool Jimmie he is da' man!!

  10. R.... C....

    6:23 - 6:31

  11. C.... B....

Nice interpretation of Little Johnny Taylor's, "Part Time Love". Can't help but feel Kim Wilson is off with his singing - but I attribute this to poor sound (what Kim's hearing) at this gig. Jimmie V. killin' as always. *edit* That deadly rhythm section deserves so much love! Quality AF!! Bass player is smoking. Yeah!!

  12. C.... R....

    Jimmie the monster, fantastic

  13. M.... L....

    RHYTHM SECTION.

  14. E.... E....

I bet when you and I watch this, it's exactly what Stevie Ray was thinking......"Damn!!!...Big Brother Can PLAY!!!!!"

  15. E.... E....

I love Stevie, but you can't have Stevie without Jimmie first!!

  16. J.... J....

Jimmy is incredible here! For those non-believers of him, watch this video and if it doesnt convert you then you have no "Soul"! LoL.

  17. H.... H....

    That solo. Mercy.

  18. E.... L....

Going far ba ck now to see his performances amaze me. I only saw his recent jams and wasn't very impressed with them. But that stuff he was doing back then was as good as Eric Clapton if not better.

  19. S.... B....

    Superb ! ! !

  20. l.... ....

I can't believe I saw Jimmie Vaughan back then!! Being a Jersey girl had musical perks!

    l.... ....

    Very lucky, Linda!

  21. C.... H....

    THIS MY FAVOURITE CONSTELLATION !!!!

  22. T.... B....

Now do you see how silly you mfers are who think john mayer reinvented the Blues?Jimmie will kill you with just a few notes. That faggot xheavy metal idiot couldnt shine Jimmies shoes or Stevies or Dennys or Dereks or Ansons or Joes or a million more.In Texas we dont give a fuck how you do it anywhere else.

  23. k.... ....

I'll always place this song as one of the best slow blues ever. Jimmie is incredible!!!

  24. M.... C....

Oh good Lord!! The finest !

  25. J.... G....

His name is Jimmie Lawrence Vaughan ***
His father's name was Jimmie Lee Vaughan ***

  26. B.... B....

I saw this version of the band in Denver, Fran Christina on drums... also the coolest, I don't think I took a breath for 90 minutes... it's as 'real' as it gets

    B.... B....

Bruce Bouck Franny is good guy too!

  27. B.... B....

Jimmie is the coolest ever, something about him just kills it for me, and SRV really got my attention, for sure... but for me, Jimmie was the real influence on me

  28. M.... ....

There's no other axman like Jimmy Vaughan! he's so laid back and tight at the same time, perfect phrasing, exquisite timing and melody-maker! We need a new gen to carry it on!!

    M.... ....

Laura Chavez is keeping blues-torch alive. Worth to listen 💕

    M.... ....

Checkout Jimmie's kid.Tyrone Vaughan.Looks like Jimmie and same tone as Jimmie. He is carrying the Vaughan torch on for sure.Aint It Fun Being From Texas.

  29. E.... D....

Kim Wilson almost single-handedly re-introduced blues singing, as it's own thing, to a wider audience, and he's a freakin' master. He does for blues singing what Jimmy and Stevie did for blues guitar playing. Simply the best there is.

  30. b.... ....

Jimmy has always been underrated!! He taught his little brother too!!
Duke Robilard a bad Ass too

    b.... ....

Jimmy got him up and running, tuning, and how to figure stuff out off of records. Jimmy was pretty much gone by the time Stevie was 12 but he had left a Telecaster behind. When he'd check back now and again Stevie was growing by leaps and bounds. When Jimmy went to Austin I think Stevie followed a year later. I think Stevie would have been 17 and Jimmy 20 at that point. That was I think 1972.

  31. M.... L....

    fabulous as ever

  32. D.... L....

He is simply my favorite player. Not flashy, but perfectly herky jerky, and unique. He uses space better than any player I have ever heard. Sometimes what you don;t say is more important than than what you do say. He never over plays and always something. Jimmie is the bomb.

  33. A.... M....

if you dont like this you dont like blues !!!

    A.... M....

    Mmm hmmm!

    A.... M....

If you don't like this you have no soul

  34. A.... M....

one of the best blues band bar none !!! they toured with clapton in 81 82

    A.... M....

They were Claptons favorite band.Muddy loved those guys too.He thought Jimmie sounded like his guitar player Jimmie Rodgers. That was Jimmie Vaughans favorite compliment.

  35. J.... M....

    FUCK YEA what a solo

  36. S.... J....

    Killer.

  37. G.... D....

I love this Band , I still and will always blast their music , SRV , ZZ Top , Boston , Eagles , Journey ... I just love good music .

    G.... D....

    BOSTON!

  38. B.... ....

Great, great guitar solo By Jimmy Vaughan!

  39. R.... M....

Jimmie is unbelievable. Blistering guitar and great tone. Texas blues at it's finest.

    R.... M....

    Yes yes yes

    R.... M....

True!,...and the coolest cat on the planet.

    R.... M....

    Unfukkinbelievabale,

    R.... M....

And to think we used to see the guys in Dallas at any given time for 5.00 in the 70s.Whoops I just gave my age away.It was the original line up with Jimmie and Kim with Keith on bass and Mike Buck on drums. Those were the good old days.

  40. S.... A....

The Greatest slow guitar solo I ever heard!! He´s a Motherfucker!!!! So Good!!

Feel privileged to have seen The Fab T's, with at least 3 different line-ups since my first 'fix' aged 19 at The Marquee Club, Wardour St, London.  Have had the honour too of meeting the wonderful, warm and generous man that is Mr Kim Wilson on 2 occasions (The Brooke, Southampton and The Renfew Ferry, Glasgow).  He was an absolute Gent to myself and my husband. An absolute Gent *knees buckling*  Kim will remain my bit of fluff, (it was the voice when he looked like a pimp way back when: now its the hot ol' boy look that makes him top totty for this 54yr old gal ha, ha!).
Wonderful, Wondful Band, in whatever incarnation.  Feel privileged too to have actually seen the line-up with Jimmy, especially being that we're in the UK.
Please come back and see us again soon boys......its been a long time, but thanks for the memories xxxxx
PS - This, and 'Wait on Time' = my all-time fav tunes xxxx
