Exodus - Die By His Hand Lyrics
Join the prince of darkness give it a try
any of the witches would like to come and ride
Talk it slow sacrifice a demon
Pay the price with a sacrifice dying by his hand in league with Satan
pay the price with a sacrifice dying by his hand
Die by his hand to live on Satan's land
There is no life or birth the undead walk the earth
Die by his hand to live on Satan's land
There is no life or birth the undead walk the earth
Decay down to the grave in league with Satan
Pay the price with a sacrifice dying by his hand
Go to hell dying by his hand

Exodus Die By His Hand Comments
Creeping Hand
EXODUS ATTACK , KISS MY ASS , YOU DON'T LIKE IT , I DON'T KARE
0:19 did he say metal up your ass?
This song is a banger, too bad their isn’t a better quality version
Does anyone know where I can get this t shirt? I’ve been looking for like a year
Nigel just paid someone who do tshirts
Badass thrash here. And they say Metallica created thrash. Sure they were among the original trash bands to be formed. But exodus definitely was right there in the running.
1:51 DIE! DIE!
James Hetfield sure sounds different in this demo.
The real rub, is that Megadave was ripping off Hammett all along 🙄
Creeping death is better
And now Megadave has the Creeping Death from all the years of lying about writing it 🙄
@Spring Bloom oof
Thrash Till Deaaaaath \m/
Pure shit
To be honest. anyone who sings like " whuawauwuawheywhyewhaaowhiqwhawhywhi."
You deserve a medal of minus 10 english.
Die. Die. Die by my hand.
Way better than anything they ever did in the studio. Thrash, needed this gritty-ness.... Over production kills so much in rock in roll. Not every band is the mighty Pink Floyd
die
die
die
die
die
oops wrong song
I know Kirk wrote the riff for Exodus and later used it in Metallica, but did Metallica take Exodus' lyrics ("die by his hand", slightly modified) for Creeping Death as well? Or did Kirk write that lyric too?
Take a closer listen. Its not just the die by my hand riff. The whole song is an early version of Creeping Death. Its... the hilariously ironic(in so many ways) part... just played the way Megadave would play Creeping Death.
I think Kirk absolutely took this riff he wrote and the lyric die by my hand to later create creeping death. Even though he doesnt write lyrics its impossible to say otherwise. The exact creeping death riff played here is exactly the point where they say die die die by my hand..... so how could you not say kirk directly took this and used the riff and lyric to form creeping death. It was obviously inspired by this song.
I would say yes it was taken and slightly modified. The creeping death riff played here is exactly the part where they say die die die by my hand reach across the land killing first born man.
*creep across the land killing first born man.
Krik also wrote the master of puppets chorus riff. If you listen to all his demo riffs you can hear easily what is Kirk stuff and what is James stuff.
1:52 DIE
Creeping Death by his hand
This singer ruins it sounds horrible
@Josh White- Puller Of StringsPaul Baloff doesn't suck listen to their album Bonded By Blood
This is better than creeping death
No, isn't.
Hahahahahahaha
No.
James wrote better lyrics, better riffs save for Kirk's one riff, James is a better singer, Creeping Death is way catch her, so how is this better?
@MrParkerman6 I said this was better because i genuinely prefer these riffs and Paul Balofs vocals. I didnt expect this version to be so badass
To anyone who's making stupid comments here, Kirk wrote the majority of this song and the riff in question which was used in 'Creeping Death', he wrote when he was 16.
Kartik Chandrasekhar Cool, but they still used a part Gary wrote. Which is not the first instance of James and Lars taking parts of songs without permission.
Actually, there are differences in lyrics (Dying By His hand, Live on Satan's land, There's no life or birth, as Satan walks the earth vs Die BY MY HAND, I CREEP ACROSS THE LAND, KILLING FIRST BORN MAN). Besides, the riff is Kirk's. That's the most important part. Gary has always maintained that the riff is Kirk's and he can do what he wants. The only thing that annoyed him was the lyric 'Dying by his hand'. But as you see, Metallica adjusted it to suit the theme of Creeping Death.
Thing is if exodus abandoned those songs, why even use framework riffs form an old band on your new shit? I love kirks tight tone, but that's kinda pathetic cringy
Cuz it was too good to just toss away, nothing wrong with doing that.
@MrParkerman6
And with all the (deserved)Hetfield love, it slipped completely under the RADAR that Hammett wrote the sickest riff in metal, probably never to be surpassed.
everyone talking about that Creeping Death riff but sleeping on that sick nasty intro lick
absolutely! such a brutal riff and quite hard to play. I wonder why it never landed on a record.
@Georg Bäckert cuz no one besides kirk knew how to play it
Nothing gets stuck in my head quite like these early 80s thrash demo riffs n licks
Because that section of Creeping Death is perhaps the greatest few bars in metal. It was perfect.
CREEPING DED XDHFSJ
Up your ass!!!
Love It!!!
Love all u guys you know... um...
This singer is pathetic, James made that song 100 times better
Hetfield is a better singer, but he sounded more like a bitch on those early Metallica demos.
FUCK YOU POSER
you dont know shit about thrash. Theres other metal bands other than Metallica..you probably listen to Nickelback and shit and "active rock" radio stations and would be scared of a black metal or death metal song lol
Beroe Zara Don’t be talking shit about Paul Baylof you fucking jerk
is this solo written by kirk hammett?
Alp Ertuğrul yeah. I think...
very similar with Dave Mustaine's solos
No, Dave Mustaine wrote if for him ;)
@Alp Ertuğrul wrote by Kirk when he was a teenager.
This is no demo, these are 2 live recordings from 1983. They were released on an (unofficial) single.
die by my hand
Anyone else end up here trying to find out if Apple Cider Vinegar really destroys belly fat?
Explain
Ender's riff. What thing to more fucking precious!!
I creep across the land...
Killing first born man
...die by my hand!
KingOfKingz819 YEAHEAH
so one of my favourite metallica songs happens to be an exodus recycled rip off.
Kirk was on exodus before joining metallica and he wrote that riff when he was 16
wasn't ripped off Kirk took his riff with him. Also did it for trapped under ice. That's was from an EXODUS song he wrote called impaler
Fusion Wizard Exactly! No different than Dave using some of the riffs he wrote for Kill Em all and Ride The Lightning in other Megadeth songs and Dave obviously recording The Mechanix on Megadeth's debut. Why is it that only Metallica get in shit for this but yet Dave doing it is perfectly fine? lol
@Lurch Murphy because people like to give Metallica a lot of shit, even if it's unjustified
He wrote that riff and saved it for what would be the best Metallica song.
Now we no who was first , Metallica released this 2-3 years later as creeping death ,a Paul Baloff song ,James hetfeild you can go fuck off bitch ,if it wasn't for Paul bring your shit band out of Los Angeles ,you'd have nothing !!!!!!! DIE POSER DIE
but Kirk wrote that riff and put it in Creeping Death, so... no need to call James a poser, fucking idiot
WOW...Even after all this time, this is still Absolutely Incredible to hear!! Love It!!
ender sounds suspiciously a lot like Overkill's rotten to the core.
jean moreno
I gotta check that out
is alot older than Overkill.Theyve been stealing riffs from the Bay scene for years
@Fusion Wizard that's a joke. It is well documented that overkill is the first thrash band.
4:23 what song is that?
it says in the description
02.Ender (04:23)
no way....Kirk Hammett made it so much better with Metallica ..so much more powerful!!
@fourthorseman84 What do you mean? If you mean the fact that Creeping Death has other band members credited, it's because the other riffs were written by other people.
@LRed13 Looks like some comments here have been deleted,so mine looks totally out of place now. It's been awhile, but i think it was something about Kirk stealing riffs from exodus and not crediting his former bandmates.
@fourthorseman84 Kirk is one of the founding members of exodus, he named the band.
Fake news
Yeah lol. Look who's making better music these days. It's not Metallica.
He is a bit like john mcenroe
metallica got to much of exodus lars should of stuck with tenis
Chris Gregan What does Lars have to do with this
Should have. Use proper grammar.
James and Lars made the executive decisions, and still do. Lars was the stingy one about writing credits though. There is still a legal battle between Lars and Dave Mustaine about the No Life Til Leather demo or something regarding writing credits.
*tennis
Creeping Kirk vocals O.o
It's Paul Baloff on vocals not kirk.
sounds like Paul
@Blood Eagle 88 he got 106 likes even though what he said isn't correct, LOL
They REALLY need to record this piece... :P
11DNA11 yeah why not, they rerecorded impaler and hell’a breath which probably both have Kirk Hammett riffs later used in Metallica
Paul is dead now
Creeping Death
Metal Militia
Kirk then just reused the riff later
@ThatRandomGuitarist
Creeping Death is a rearrangement of the main riff, here. But there's also some of Metal Militia in here, too. Hetfield gets all the credit and he deserves a great deal of it, but Hammett pretty much invented the Metallica style. You can see the change, too, as Hetfield asserted more and more influence, on into Puppets and beyond.
Spring Bloom if I remember correctly, cliff burton also wrote a part
yeah, Cliff wrote the bridge harmony
FREE HOLT
Wolfgang's San Francisco 1-30-84 is this recording
NOPE, it's live 17/07/1983 Aquatic Park, Berkeley California
