Everly Brothers, The - Claudette Lyrics
Oh, oh Claudette
Oh, oh Claudette
I got a brand new baby and I feel so good
She loves me even better than I thought she would
When I see her tonight I'm gonna squeeze her to death
Claudette
Pretty little pet, Claudette
Never make me fret, Claudette
'Cause she's the greatest little girl that I've ever met
I get the best loving that I'll ever get
From Claudette
Pretty little pet, Claudette
Oh, Oh, Claudette
Well I'm a lucky man my baby treats me right
She's gonna let me hug and kiss and hold her tight
When the date is over and we're at her front door
When I kiss her good night I holler, “More, more, more”
Claudette
Pretty little pet, Claudette
Never make me fret, Claudette
'Cause she's the greatest little girl that I've ever met
I get the best loving that I'll ever get
From Claudette
Pretty little pet, Claudette
Oh, Oh, Claudette
When me and my new baby have a date or three
I'm gonna ask my baby if she'll marry me
I'm gonna be so happy for the rest of my life
When my brand new baby is my brand new wife
Claudette
Pretty little pet, Claudette
Never make me fret, Claudette
'Cause she's the greatest little girl that I've ever met
I get the best loving that I'll ever get
From Claudette
Pretty little pet, Claudette
Oh, Oh, Claudette
Mmm-mmm Claudette
Oh, Oh, Claudette
Mmm-mmm Claudette

I have a coworker named Claudette. Tomorrow’s her last day at this job and I’m going to play this at her farewell party. It’s possible she’s never heard it before.
Dons vibreto it’s amazing
Hank Garland, Chet Atkins, Roy Edenton & both Everlys on Guitar, Junior Husky, Bass, Buddy Harmon, Drums & Floyd Kramer, Piano
Absolute belter
One of my all time favourite records of the 50’s. The Everly Brothers were a terrific duo. Wonderful voices and great harmony. This is a classic hit which never grows old!
so many memories
Always a favorite song everly fan recording I did here

Chugga-chugga, Oh Yeah !
Call my loving wife Claudette at least once a day....she gets it...her name is Mary. Love you....
First 45's I bought as a young Teen were Duane Eddy Hits and The Everly Brothers, Claudette one of my Favorites along with Cathy's Clown (R.I.P. Phil Everly)
This is the Sticks ‘ n ‘ Bones of what I love.
Just found this song it’s fucking amazing I just wish it was longer
Now is this much better than todays music.Great track from the 50s.Rock n Roll still lives
My favorite Everly Brothers song....and I love them all.
Wow, this brings back memories! Had a friend in high school named Claudette.
I've been listening to the Everly Brothers as long as I could remember growing up. An i luv every bit an min of there songs. Luv u guys
Nice, snappy little
song. My mother
liked it also, and named
a pet parakeet
"Claudette."
I always like this peppy little song!
this was written about the late Roy O's first wife who was killed in an accident
my brother send me this song every year
my named is claudette
Cute name. Hope
your fate is better than the
songwriter's (Roy Orbison) wife
was, Claudette.
And mine haha
my name is Earl
This song will always remind me not only of his wife's death, but the death of his two sons who were burned to death a week later I believe. Roy was blessed with a second wife and two children before tragically passing. An amazing man. Don and Phil loved him too.
I was about seven when this was played on my parents am radio.🎼📻📻📻
I was about 8 or 9 when this came out in the 1950s. My aunt was named Claudette and we used to play this record in the family. Great tune.
Rockin tune.
I grew up listening to them. my brother had little 45s...I know every song.
Me, too! :)
The B side of "All I have to do is dream"
Equall-billed Double A. But this side tends to get forgotten about
my name hahaahahha
Classic one! Love it.
Chet Atikns on electric guitar probably.
+Patsik have wondered if he ever played on any of their songs
Hank Garland, maybe. Both r great.
I like the everly brothers but I like roy orbison Singing it better
does anyone know who played drums on this song?
Probably Buddy Harman
thought so
Great rendition of the song by the Everly Brothers. John Denver also sang it. And Roy Orbison wrote and sang it. See which rendition you like best.
John Denver...you mean Froggy??
Some country singer did a cover of this which is actually pretty good, but he's sure not an Everly Brother. Sorry I can't recall the guy's name. Country just isn't my thing. If I hadn't watched the movie "A Cool Dry Place" I never would've heard the cover. Glad I did though.
+Melanie Hamilton Roy wrote it about his late first wife who died in a motorcycle accident
@jennifur sun Yep, he sure did. What a sweet tribute it turned out to be. Roy Orbison was a very talented guy.
+Melanie Hamilton he was
+K Groux This is roy orbison's song. Its about his wife
Claudette was killed in a motorcycle accident while Roy watched helplessly.
Double A-side to "All I Have To Do Is Dream"; both songs were the 73rd UK #1 together.
Much more upbeat and rock-'n'-roll-style than the flip side.
7.7/10 ("Good")
Great !!! Music of my youth .
+frank beusing Mine too, except my youth was 18 years ago
I really like the guitar strumming in this song.
Chet Atkins said Don Everly was the best rhythm guitar player he had ever seen; Don came up with most of the rhythm parts in the studio.
Yes sir, that's the only thing holding this one up. Don's strumming is front and center, but the rhyming is annoyingly predictable.
@city zen i have read that Phil rarely played on their records
Best song they ever did!
@Marc Smith it was the flip side of wake up little susie
Marlene Leonard No. "Claudette" is the flip side of "All I Have to Do is Dream".
I reckon you is right.
The Everly Brothers were my all-time favorites. Number 1 in my book along with Buddy Holly.
Lets not forget Tommy Roe and Del Shannon!
PHIL SE FUÉ PERO NOS DEJÓ SU ETERNA BUENA MÚSICA
Thanks for the music Phil
wasn't this song written by Roy Orbison in memory of his wife tragically killed in a motorcycle accident?
Top song R.I.P Phil LEGEND
Roy wrote it when he was still courting Claudette. Claudette died in that horrible accident in 1966.
Mark J. Rockman Yes, I couldn’t imagine him writing this upbeat song, after losing the love of his life. He was dealt too many losses, of his family.
First record i ever bought as a kid in the 50's...still love it!
I might not want to return to the 1950s to live out the rest of my life, but I certainly wouldn't mind visiting there for a month or so. Doo-wop, tail fins, chrome, and the Nannystate hadn't grown nearly so large as to become a burden to the producers in our society--a different world!
La canción es original de Orbison pero me gusta mucho más ésta versión.
Are they still alive??
Jamjar107 no
google it...duhhhhhh
Phil unfortunately died of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, but Don is still alive!
@Earl Dwire ,,,such a helpfull prick
