Everclear - Invisible Lyrics

I will live, I will live
Maybe for a year or two, maybe for a year
I will die, I will die, I can rest secure in that
I am awful sure that this thing ain't no accident
And I just can't believe that AIDS is just some act of God
I will reach for you, I will reach my hand
No one will reach for me, no one will touch my skin
Yes I will accept, I will accept my pain
I don't deserve to die like this, no one deserves to die like this
Sometimes I get so mad I just want to break the world
I will not be denied, I will not be ignored
I'm not invisible anymore
I will not be denied, I will not be ignored
I'm real, I won't go away
I am not invisible anymore
Sometimes I get so mad I just want to break the world

    bring back grunge now, ok?

That was so fucking awesome. Been too long since I listened to this album.

    sounds like nirvana

someonewithballs I really don't know how someone can honestly say that.

It is true that both bands used distorted guitars to their benefit but...Nirvana was very noisy and also quite bass-heavy. They used a lot more feedback-noise as part of their songwriting. (the influence of The Melvins is quite apparent in some of their songs).

Everclear does not really produce the same "buzz" of noise, even on World Of Noise. Nirvana could be very "pop" but Everclear WERE pop--even at their "grungiest". Anyone who says they went soft and sold out on later albums obviously never listened to this one very closely. Sure, later their sound got cleaned up a lot and began to sound much more "produced", but it is essentially the same. They were and are inherently a grungy pop band, whereas I believe Nirvana was more of a poppy grunge band, if that makes any sense?

Art liked coke. Kurdt liked smack. Art got rich, fat, famous, went on to make many albums and now does 90s nostalgia tours, the kind of thing I'm pretty sure that would have made Cobain barf. Kurdt? Well, we all know what happened to him (R.I.P.).

And finally, their vocal styles were complete opposites to.o, IMO.

Kurdt's lyrics (and voice) were difficult to discern, mysterious even. He wrote extremely figuratively, and his lyrics can be interpreted in a myriad of ways.

On the other hand, Art's lyrics and voice are very clear and easy to understand. He writes simply and literally about life. His song's messages aren't really hidden at all.

The two compliment each other beautifully and it is true, they ARE of a similar time and place. But sound alike? I personally don't hear it.
