There's so much symbolism in this. The leaves changing represent the changes in life from childhood to adulthood. Then there's wanting to go back to life before all the bad stuff happened. This song is great on so many levels.

When my Dad died,this song was my anthem! So many trees, but I never got buried. I did end up at JPS's 10th floor. I was quoting this and Fiona Apple "Extraordinairy Machine" and I may have heel kicked somone, okay that somone was a police officer, but I was just dancing.

a lot of Art's songs like this one comes from the very real pain of losing his family members and friends. i think thats why its so relate-able..

I love Everclear and the meaning behind this song, I just really like the one on the "In a different light" album. It flows better to me...

but the vocals bends in both tempo and pitch on the original version rip my heart to pieces (that's a good thing)

Gotta say though, to the point, Fire Maple Song has helped me walk when I felt there wasn't a hope to stand. What a great tune.
