I still listen to AM radio. I've got a station where I live that plays all this stuff. 70s, 80s, 90s. It's great. Only it goes off the air at 6 p.m. Then I have to switch to the local FM oldies station. It's not nearly as fun.

If you were a kid in the 70's (I graduated in '75)...this really hits home. Every reference is right on. Initially there was no FM, you listened to the music on the AM radio. Best friend had a Pinto we got busted in. Had a Van we got busted in as well, lol. I took up guitar in 1970 because I wanted to play the stuff I was listening to. I mean, all the TV references in this song are so right on, including arguing about what to watch. lol. And we did hate Disco, but went anyway... cuz that's where the girls were.

Why was the "KHJ Los Angeles" audio clip removed from the head end?

I remember when FM was first coming up, it was like the adult way to listen to music because they played the album version of songs, not the shortened versions you'd hear on AM radio. They chopped up Do You Feel Like We Do by Frampton so much on AM radio is was nearly not worth listening to. FM radio prided itself on playing long obscure songs on albums you'd NEVER hear on AM.

Oh yeah, AM radio. Used to stay up at night cranking up WLS in Chicago, KAAY Little Rock, WLAC Nashville, WOWO Fort Wayne. 50,000 awesome watts covering 38 states with some sweet tunes. It's a shame what has happen to both AM and FM today.
