At first I thought it was funny, but then I listened to the tragic events

I used to be scared of this song when I first listened to it a year ago, but when I listened to this after listening to the "tragic events of september", I felt super bad for the evelyn sisters, they just want food ;^;

Coming to realise the true meaning of the song and the story it represents complete broke me. And hearing Evelyns cries for the chicken man make me sick to my stomach.. no story has ever really made me feel this unnerved and queasy and distraught, and I don't think anything else can ever make me feel this way. So sad and lost.

Me and my girlfroend have found that the most likely solution is that, as displayed in the animatic of evelyn evelyn, they lock was left undone on their couple and they get out. Once the Chicken man left they ran. And once they were taken into the orphanage, they saw all of the bad things that happened and all the friends they lost (sandy fishnets), they ran from the orphanage. Later on, also in evelyn evelyn, they say "what if they find us" "they arent looking Anyways" which would push for more than one person looking for the. Possibly, making this a possibility

when i first listened to the song i thought it was about a fellow misfit that resembled a chicken (a la the movie "freaks!") that had posted a sign about running away from the circus on the postboard, but actually killing himself far away from the circus, and the circus tries to reassure them that he will return, but the evelyns dont believe him, so they run off searching for him with no luck (hence why they sounded upset and desparate at the end) when he actually wont, but then after i heard tragic events two, it changed the way i saw the songs meaning

I love Evelyn Evelyn and their songs, but their really sad and dark. Especially since most of their songs are based on true events that happened to them in their childhood, perhaps even when they were adults.

Um... I'm sorry to be the one to tell you, but the twins aren't actually real. It really sucks but they're fictional characters... So they aren't really based off of true events.
The twins are actually based off real twins, but they weren't conjoined.
This was a concept album I believe.
Still, it's a beautiful and dark story that we can all love.
