There was something so beautifully dark about their earliest songs that they captured. I do not think they can capture it again... Not that their new stuff is bad, its just not... this. Which is so unique and special.

L. Rainfell there was three talented song writers. Amy Lee, Ben Moody, and David Hodges. They were the core and heart of Evanescence. Both guys left the band due to their differences and now it's just not the same. I, 100%, agree with you.Still good but not the same.

 The perfect Evanescence it's Ben and Amy. That's it. And then - Ben, Amy and David. Ben need Evanescence and Amy need Ben. Ben's solo works... Evanescence albums after Ben's departure... No comment.

+Nikolai Popolis You're right for that 'Origin' and 'Fallen' were beautiful,but I think Evanescence was never formed to be 'perfect'.Amy gave all her youth,her words,her voice to the band..My opinion is that she gave more of herself to it than Ben did.After all of that,she deserves at least to be treated right and to have freedom to create and make whatever she wants with her songs.Her other songs are so deep,just look at 'Erase this',everyone hates it but I feel it's the same,metaphoric,meaningful,deep,as 'Imaginary' for example.The Open Door was so beautiful.Look at 'Lithium'.So beautiful,dark...Her solo album and 'Lockdown' that line 'I choke on the words as they rise in me' still the same to me.And after all we need changes to survive,she needs them,band needs them.People aren't machines to provide us what we want,to control how emotionally hurt they are by people they should work with so they can make perfect music for few people who understand it.We can't ask that from them.Don't get me wrong,I just wanted to tell you so you may listen and see,how much her is in every song from Evanescence.

@Mina Tonic Now Evanescence is just Amy, but there was years when Evanescence was more than just Amy, and that was the essential Evanescence. Everyone have the right to like any period of Evanescence, but you're not right when you said that Amy gave more than Ban to Evanescence. You have to seep trough the the essential Evanescence to understand what I mean.

I wonder why It's called Catherine

It's never been officially dubbed "Catherine" but im also not sure why it came to be called that though 

'Catherine' is an instrumental that Amy and Ben wrote on a parking lot and only ever performed in a coffee shop to about 20-30 people. This is not Catherine. This song has no official title, Amy said she can't remember this. There is a song that was rumoured to be an outtake of Evanescence EP called 'Me and You'. Some people believe that Me and You is a misconception of 'Me in You' which is most likely this song. Fans of YouTube have unofficially named this song 'You Can't Kill The Me In You' or have mistaken this song for 'Catherine' which was never recorded.
