How many times have they taken down & reposted these videos? Since 2010, Jackie has acquired millions of views, deservedly so. According to the averages today, her songs have a few thousand to maybe 100,000 views. Compared to other Artists, someone ISN'T continually taking down, their vids have been up years with views in hundreds of millions! If it's okay for everyone else to appear popular & wanted, why isn't it okay to have Jackie's performances posted for the long-haul?

A fan for years. With just guitar on the first line, this song is a show case like nearly everything she does. It’s a pure bell tone with the sweet vibrato of a violin, not the warble amplitude that you often hear in a trained operatic voice. In 2018 her vibrato has gotten a bit slower but the amplitude has not increased. It has a richer tone like a Stradivarius played with expression and phrasing befitting the musical message of the song. She has it right and should never try to change it.

After Miss Evancho's first performance of this number, it was discovered that some small technical issue [cameras? sound system?] required a "second take", so we were treated to an additional perfect [from our viewpoint] performance of this number.

Mark Keller Louis Armstrong is better.

Louis Armstrong was-at heart-a world-class trumpet player, NOT a singer. Mind you, his gravelly voice had a certain appeal but PLEASE, he is not in Jackie's class when it comes to singing and the ability to emote a song!

Mark Keller Jackie is great but this is a goddamn jazz song, not a melody. And Armstrong is a jazz singer AND a trumpet player. He sang the song with joy and emotions.

When Louis Armstrong recorded this it was at the time of the British invasion (that is in reference to the British music Beatles, Stones. etc. became more popular in the U.S.A.). When Louis Armstrong cut this it didn't sell well but the other record he cut became a huge success, one of the few American recordings during that British invasion that went to #1 and it wasn't of the Jazz genera either. Oh, the name of it was "Hello Dolly". Look up a history of Jazz or Louis Armstrong. You might enjoy it. As a side note, when Louis Armstrong was on the road with his group alot of the people would ask him to sing "Hello Dolly" and he had no idea which song they were referring too.

The bllonde one is Caroline Campbell. She performed withJackie and Fernando Varela on his PBS special in 2016. They performed The Prayer together.

The quality of Ms Evancho's voice changes and raises the bar for this song as a performance...forevermore. Only 12 when she recorded this...12years old! As an artist she is reason enough to believe that it is a wonderful world! I have enjoyed Jackie so much over the past 5 years, she is a a true gift to the world.

Louis Armstrong played a mean trumpet. His scratchy hoarse voice became associated with this song which was used in a number of movies. Many great singers sang it after he did in 1967, but it remained his song. He is a true jazz legend among all other musicians. It WAS always his song because he made the original singing it as a jazz song. Thought by some to be only able to be sung by only African-American jazz legends. Once Jackie sang this song she owned it. I heard Jackie sing this live recently as an 18 year old and her power now has increased. She owns this song.

[RD] Ah, No! This is not considered a work of Jazz (see Ken Burns PBS special on Jazz and the segment about Louis Armstrong)!! When Louis Armstrong and his band recorded this they were given a few songs to record by there backers, you know--the money people and the recording company. A "Wonderful World" and another song that hit it big. So, they go on the road and at some point the people in the audience asked to hear that other song and Louis Armstrong looked at his band members and asked, "what the hell are they talking about"?? "Yea, you remember that little studio session we did a few months ago!! I think that was one of the songs". In that short time "Hello Dolly" shot to the top and that was during the time when everything popular was British. Oh, and "Hello Dolly" was not considered a piece of Jazz either.

@brgilbert2 This song is listed in the 'GRAMMY HALL OF FAME' as a "JAZZ' single. Most of Armstrong's entire career is listed on wikipedia as a 'JAZZ' singer. All the music sites like Amazon, etc sell this as a 'JAZZ' song. 'Hello Dolly' was one of the only songs he recorded not considered Jazz. Carry on with your contra mantra though.

@RocknRollDina Ok!! Sure!! I'll compare but I have found NO one too compare with Jackie at 12 years old. Oh sure, most of the sopranos you can name, considering their age, have a greater range but the quality of her vocals will equal anyone you can name. I have read articles (legitimate musicians etc.) who think you would have to go back to Jenny Lind to find someone so gifted. Even Sumi Jo, who Jackie performed with in Russia, recognized her gift. You may prefer other vocalist but that doesn't mean she is, as you infer, ok!!!

[Call Me Joker] Sorry, but I do disagree with you about Angelina Jordan. Jackie and Angelina are both so gifted, more gifted then anyone that I can think of but there are considerations. Jackie is a soprano while Angelina is more pop and Jazz. As a Jazz singer Angelina's vocal range is considerable but not near Jackie's. And that is why I support both of these brilliant artists.

Nobody comes close to Jackie. Many other young singers have a harshness about their voices where they shout to get the effect. Jackie glides from each note to the next with no effort just a beautiful bell tone

Miss Evancho's bell tone voice is crystal clear and pure; unique, exquisite and intoxicating. The sound goes directly to the pleasure center of the brain and is why so many love her voice and are moved to tears when they hear her sing. I've never heard such a heavenly sound in all my life and I'm 66. Her voice may well be the most beautiful sound in the history of recorded music. In addition she is just so gosh darn easy to look at;  in total, more than even imagination allows. I am in awe....

Thanks tosius2 for putting into words how I've always felt about Jackie! I'm 57 and have heard all the great female voices out there and Jackie's has the deepest and most profound effect on my deepest emotional level. A gift from God!!
