I grew up with her music...i always thought along with class as an artist she had a true signifigant beauty,so erotic in her own vain.

I feel like a more suitable word is “lust” versus love in this song. Lust is a stranger in an open car .....

She’s an example of someone who just kept getting better. “Sweet Dreams” was never a favorite but every song after and her solo work was just off the charts perfection!

So few young people know how the Eurythmics were EPIC pioneers in videos of their songs. They took flack like you wouldn't believe - for this video at 1:09 when Annie took off her wig, MTV shutdown the broadcast of this video on the spot, and I believe they broadcast static for a short while. Why ?? Some idiots thought she was a transvestite and banned the video for a while. Also the video for George Orwell's 1984, they made the song and video for " Sex Crime ". Any educated person knows that has to do with in the novel, sex is illegal. What happened? The Eurythmics got blamed for singing a song glorifying rape!!! They endured a heck of a lot to pioneer the standard of the song video ! God Bless Annie and Dave!!!

Sweet dreams was written about the music industry. "Some of them want to abuse you" is talking about the things that Eurythmics had to endure as they felt the record companies were taking advantage of them and also cheated them out of money. They went through a lot.

Absolutely insanely brilliant vocal arrangement! One of my favorite Eurythmics songs.

We needed this , in a time where some, like me ,only knew of Elton John in the 1970’s. And , yes, she did mimic David Bowie. She and Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran, taught me a lot about what I missed in the 1970’s.

I was captivated the moment I saw this in '83 and this siren will never release me, I hope....

It did not matter how much I focused on the lyrics, there were some that I could not make out. So, I went to a lyrics site. Boy, what a dud song. Some 'Eurythmics' songs are unbelievable when it comes to piercing through a theme and laying it out. This was the opposite - reminiscent of some high school thoughts about love. I was/am disappointed.
