I know that some of you out there are just here to listen to music and I totally get that, so if thats the case please scroll on by, but for anyone looking for a story, here's mine. My biological mother was thrown out of her parents house when she was very young, and she turned to drugs and prostitution. So it goes without saying, she really didn't mean to have me, or any of my siblings. I lived with her till I was about five, and she gave birth to my sister when I was four. I raised that baby by myself by some miracle. I was only four and somehow managed to keep a baby alive when my bio mom was never home. When I was five she took me to live with my biological father, and he sexually abused me for a year. When I finally figured out what was happening to me and that it was wrong, I told my friend at school. Though she was too young to understand, she must have gotten the feeling that it was bad, and told her parents, and they must have told the police. Because the next day at school, they were there and they asked me questions. I was scared to get in trouble for knowing what was happening, so I cried through the whole thing. When I got back to the apartment after school that day, a bag was packed and I was taken to spend the night with another family, and the next day, I met the family that I've lived with since then. They took me in at six. I was adopted at eight. My adopted father, who was a certified genius, and coffee addict not to mention world's best cappuccino maker, got sick. Really sick. We found out it was pancreatic cancer. Not too long after my mom got hit by a car. She was in the hospital too. The cancer had changed my dad and ruined thier relationship, his mind wasn't the same anymore. He got mean. So mom had started falling for someone else. Dad knew and he said it was better, because and least he could take care of Mom. This caused family drama. Lots of it. We had a strong church family who thought she was an adulterer and a slut. But she wasn't. I didn't understand back then, because I was only nine. When I was ten, the cancer finally won and took my dad. I woke up and walked out my room one morning, no one had even told me yet, but I saw mom sobbing into the phone and I knew he was gone. I didn't cry. I felt nothing. When the funeral people came and put him on the gurney to take him to be cremated, I watched his head roll around and his limbs move lifelessly as they lifted him up. It was horrifying. But I felt nothing. So the man mom had fallen in love with became my stepdad. He's annoying and a bit of an asshole, but he's relatively good to us. I moved around a bit but I've settled somewhere where I'm very happy living. And my life has finally calmed. The only reason I'm telling you all this is because that's why I love this song. It reminds me of a lot of different aspects of my life. Especially what my biological mother went through as a prostitute. I don't miss my bio dad and I'm glad he's in prison, but I do hope to reach out to my bio mom when I'm 18 and see if we can possibly build some form of relationship again. 3 more years. I'll enjoy them. Because as rough as it is. Life is beautiful. And so is this incredible song.
