This is a question out to Eric Clapton....When you gentlemen over there in England were taken with the American blues records growing up and in your early years in learning guitar......particularly slowing down the records to learn the songs, Did you realize that the play speeds on he Robert Johnson recordings were off & too fast & thus not natural at the 78 rpm speed ??  Since obviously this will have an effect on determining key and pitch with the song accurately when trying to replicate it.  I've recently been turned on to the speed and pitch corrected versions of the Robert Johnson collection, and have my reference in my music collection of the typical recordings that were marketed without these adjustments.  I've never seen anything in publications in regard to this when there is a guitar article & interview published.  This has sparked a curiousity….

Possibly my favorite track on this album. I believe this album may be one of his all time best. The production by Glyn Johns is excellent.

I love the me and Mr. Johnson album. In fact being a Mississippian, I know where Robert Johnson is buried. Likewise, Riding with the King is both pure Clapton and King. Clapton is without a doubt one of the great Blues men of our time.
