Eric Clapton - Little Queen Of Spades Lyrics
She is a little queen of spades
And the men will not let her be.
Said she is a little queen of spades
And the men will not let her be.
Everytime she make a spread,
Gonna get me a gambling woman
If it's the last thing that I do.
Gonna get me a gambling woman
If it's the last thing that I do.
A man don't need a woman,
Oh fair brown, that he got to give all of his money to.
Everybody said you got a mojo,
'Cause baby, you've been using that stuff.
Baby, you've been using that stuff.
Got a way trimming down,
Oh fair brown, and I mean it's most too tough.
Little girl, since I am the king,
Baby, and you is the queen,
Little girl, since I am the king,
Baby, and you is the queen,
Let us put our heads together,
Oh fair brown, and we can make our money green.

20 votes down at the time of writing. I do not undertand that. On what grounds? What are the criticisms?
Then Derek Trucks has a go and shows them all how it’s done. 😎

Jools Holland slowly backs away.
Robbie Robertson is like "Ah crap, I'm on next."
I could watch Eric play all day . The guy is amazing!! He was born to play the guitar. He got lucky and found his way to it. . Good luck. Eric.
always makes my day. ..slowhand, take it nice and easy.
And always do it only for your love of it.
As you have always done.
It shows. And saves souls.
God Bless
Bill Murray’s response is spot on. 12 years later and this still gives me goosebumps and puts a smile on my face.
His voice!
Chi è alla batteria?
HE'LL TO THE YES!
This is the way Clapton always plays when he’s pushed. Christ, this guy should have toured with other players more.
Derek is ... No words
Best part is 9:28
Willie weekss
That intro made Leo Fender rise from the grave.
perfetti
dat blonde dude raped poor piano...
ouahouah après cela les mots manque respect monsieur clapton quelle
jeo tout est dit vous ete a jamais le plus grand merci
Really wish EC had turned up more for the last
Dereck is a MONSTER. It's already a legend.....
Is Doyle playing a left handed guitar strung backwards? It appears the high E is at the top of the fretboard....
It was my privilege to see this same line-up on the first night of the tour in 2006 in Glasgow.
(minus the extra drummer... and with a horn section and Michelle and Sharon on backing v's)
OUTSTANDING!!! This was my favorite tune from Clapton when I use to see him in the 1970’s!!!! NYC!!!!
Doyle Brummel and Derik Trucks
Woooooow..
who else hits this hard..
or on the same stage
rite. not many
How isnt this video over 10,000,000 views? Tragic
.
Eric Clapton needs to do a song with Migos
master of the stratocaster
IMMENSO ERIC CLAPTON
One hell of a band.
I’ve watched this video at least 50 times. It just get’s better and better. The musicianship is stunning, the performance heartfelt, and, seriously, Derek Trucks is just at another level... and this was 11 years ago! What really blows my mind is how Chris Stainton just about steals the show with his piano-pounding performance. God, what I’d give to see these guys give a whole performance live. And then there’s Bill Murray at the end... my feelings exactly!
THAT's the way to do it.................................!!!!!!
And don't you just LOVE Eric's appreciative smile at Chris Stainton's energetic keyboard solo ?
That was the most. Kick ass arrangement I have ever heard. Unbelievable!!!
Many great guitarists. Arguing the best is silly. Enjoy what you get to hear.
Would not want to be Robbie Robertson walking on after that!
Absolutely monumental...
Why is bramhall even there? I mean what does he add to this??? Other than his solo, what the hell is he doing there?
He's actually giving a great accompaniment to the song, since Eric is mostly playing lead and not too much rythm at some parts
Can’t helping feeling sorry for Robbie Robertson... imagine having to come on after this!
godamn they grow em good in tejas !!! claptons not bad either
i think i forgot about ec for a moment holy shit !!! the man is amzing
Derek is like Freddie King, you know who's playing at the first note
eloquent phrasing by Doyle , insane song !!!
Simply a Master!!!
Uno più bravo dell'altro. Con un assolo sorprendente del pianista
People don't forget claptons band deserve a mention , Clapton needs them as much as they need him to produce this
My boss said to me one day "Clapton plays same shit all the time. All his solos are the same!! Well he can suck my baws cause byfuck Eric nailed his same triplets again and again on this song! What an intro!! Can anyone do this anymore. 🤔
C'tin Imbécile ton boss. Pis dis-y, y'é trop cave pour le savoir!!!!! If you answer me someday, for you to understand what i'm saying....... Cause this is en Québécois.I'll translante it ok? You might be laughing of it . Salut.
Claptons tone. No more words need to be said!
absolutely Perfect !!!
"baby since I am the King"...........
Must be tough singing a lyric like "Since I am the king" immediately after a Derek Trucks spectacular.
No. No it isn't. It's a song. A song that no one on stage wrote.
There are no egos involved.
What are you trying to say Trev?
Eat shit dick head....proves you dont get it
10:55 favorite loop ♥
Chris Stainton has usefully proportioned opposable thumbs doesn't he.
And oh, the man can play!
Best Derek solo ever!!!!
still amazing
I love this and so am going to be foolhardy enough to stick my two pennies' worth in.
(But have to qualify: Clapton came as a revelation to me and brought my attention to non classical music also. He fired me up and I discovered all sorts, since when I've been listening and listening and listening. After a bit I became a professional drummer).
Chris Stainton is a pure spirit. Derek Trucks has an awesome control of a filthy, near blasphemous slide.
But also;
Take a closer look as Doyle Bramhall (the whatever). No, it's not WOW in terms of ups and downs dynamically, but each note is well chosen, in a place selected for it, with a tone he chose to choose. There doesn't seem to be any "this is what I know I can do and so I will".
There is not much obvious stage presence either; he looks at his guitar, he looks at his fingers. From afar it must look like he's looking just beyond his feet, and what a crowd pleaser that isn't. Occasionally he looks at the band for empathy (one of whom happens to be EC, but that's bye-the-bye and neither of their fault). There is nothing fast. It's understated, so listen carefully. His phrasing isn't obvious. But it is lyrical. What he sustains and what he clips off short. And here is the crunch point: it's the only time he'll play it.
So, here's for the guy we missed!!
Blistering opening, go EC!
Only two words can describe this performance: BLUES POWER!!!
I meant to say that this may be the top blues recording in my lifetime. And I have seen many of the great ones. Thank you Eric.
this may be one of the best blues display every recorded by anyone anytime. Thank you Eric.
Thank you Eric AND CO!
Clapton was God in 1965.........nothing has changed.
only diffrence Is he dont play an les paul through marshalls but rather an fender today.
lol.......true dat
omeletpants .. yah... just lovin that name
J FM Um what about his voice. be careful..you are surrounded
Now we just have to wait to the idiot that says" j1m1 killed g0d"
The keyboard soloing in harmonic minor while everyone else is doin 12 bar pentatonic.... Bold.
That is so cool! Thanks so much for pointing that out, I would never have known.
Yes, Stainton is fantastic as is everyone...
Goes against the whole blues feel..
Please could you unpack that a bit? Apart from hearing and feeling the difference, what else does what you said mean?
Hah right I was just thinking that
That first solo....
could you play the blues better than this?
The best blues song I ever heard.
Gary Laubscher, I agree with Bev Lee , REALLY GREAT STUFF!!! I am 66 & Clapton has been my fav but Derek is really coming on strong, Bonamassa is really good but a little too glitzy for me, love Derek is a bit more humble
felt same as bill murray in the end. What a great performance!
that intro doe
Clapton just killed it in the opening two and half min intro of this song. The other two can just watch in awe of the legend
AMEN TO THAT!!
I, who always listen to the MASTER,s blues playing, agree with was saying: The bestes of perform of "Little Queen of Spade"; since my 68 years , I,ve think ,this is the Bestest Blues Perform of ::ERIC CLAPTON, ; the GURU of the Blues....Thank you , Belinleeelo,b for uploading this video!!
Terima kasih ,seribu kali!!! Rob Prudon, Bali-INDONESIA
+Frits Prudon Yes I totally agree with you, cant believe he is still so on it!!
This is fabulous. I like "From the Cradle" just as much.
One of the best performances I've ever heard in my short 30 years on this earth!
Animus Rex And their hasn’t been anyone since
Each & Every Solo, Blues at its best!!! Derek Trucks... Wowwww Awesome. Goosebumps 😄
Maybe the finest ensemble of musicians at one place for this song. I cannot believe that a better live version of this song is possible.
What an intro! it sends chills down my spine...
mind blowing piano
And then there is the ending..Bill Murray is about to have a kitten. Tears of joy!! Happy feet!!! Stompin!
Yung- UN's at the feeats of the master !
56 Goldtop..u got that rite.
HOLY COW
Chris Stainton is like a mad professor on those keys, great song to allow each performer to strut their stuff
Fantastic to hear this super ,thank you for uploading.
Best part is 9:27
that solo 8:40
A lesson in electric blues from the Master! No one does it better
This guy is unbelievable . He is definitely the best blues guitarist of his generation No one comes close. Possibly. Joe Bonamassa but that's about it. I don't think anyone will R
DudE listen to Clapton's cover of crossroads
+Ray Cali You need to check out Derek Trucks stuff, no he is not EC but he is really good.
Both are,,,,,,,,,, One of a kind, Check-out Further on up the road on YT. WOW!!!!!!
Eric. has a keen sense as far as being tasty and using the right key to play any song he chooses
Simply the best. Just totally Awesome
""THE CLAPPER" an His Magic Fingers...WOW!!!!
A lesson in Electric Blues. I've heard this hundreds of times and I'm still awed at Clapton's abilities.
Eric Clapton's double take at the very end of Derek's solo says it all. Even made the hair on the back of his neck stand up.
Belinleeelo, magnificent post and gift to the rest of us who catch these on YT! Thank you a million times.
Something I noticed on about the 600th time I played this was at about 7:50 Doyle's name is listed on the screen as Derek. Don't know if you have any control over that or not but for what it's worth... It sure does not detract from the astounding performances or the take-away experience. Thanks again, so much!!!
thats as close to Albert King as you are gonna get nowadays .
