Eric Clapton - Hard Times Blues Lyrics
Now it's hard time, baby, hard times everywhere I go
Hard times, baby, hard times everywhere I go
Now these people keep cryin' 'bout hard times, they comin' more and more
Now I don't even see what these poor people is going to do
Keep cryin' about these hard times and they coming more and more
Now I went to the factory this mornin' where I had worked ten years ago
And I went to the factory this mornin' where I had worked ten years ago
And the bossman told me that they ain't hirin' in here no more
Hard times, boy, and it's hard times everywhere I go
Hard times, boy, hard times everywhere I go
These people keep crying 'bout hard times and there's no work in here no more
Hey if I was a bluebird, had my trunk packed on my back
I would fly away from this town, mama, and I'd swear I would never come back.

Eric Clapton Hard Times Blues Comments
It's funny how a white supremacist can imitate black people to express himself. It's sadly funny
Amen...
My favourite track on this incredible album.
Hard times indeed!
THAT GOOD !!!
And Hendrix, which was meant to meet clapton the night he died
Fuck you, looser. That's all what you have to know about him.
lets not forget that he had to say goodbey to stevie ray and a few of his bandmembers that died in a coptercrach
Its in his Biography, his grandparents were too embarrased that her 16 year old daughter had a child with a canadian soldier so they lied
Actually I've never heard about it..
Dont forget his grandparents told him his mother was his sister for years
Are you seriously asking this?
1.his child Connor died when he was 6 years of age.
2.he was an alcoholist and drug addict for years and got recoverd.
3.he didn't have a dad, his mother and grandmother grewed him up.
4.he had alot of losts love in his life.
He is the BLUESMAN!
His young child fell out of a window...
It does doesn't it? Maybe it's just life's reward for surviving the 'Hard Times'.
funny how you made that comment just after I was speaking to someone about how the world rewards self destruction i.e. drinkers, druggies etc
To continue what the other guy said. Abandoned by his mother and father. Brought up thinking his grandparents were his parents. Love crazy (hence Derek and the Domino's) but the woman refused him at first so he turned into a hardcore drug addict who was oftenly in accidents and intoxicated all the time. Woman came to him, gave up drugs, turned hardcore alchoholic, more accidents, more women, more kids. Gave up alcohol for his kid, kid fell out window.
Do some research before you make assumptions
he was abandoned by his mother and lied to in his young life...
i don't think that a lot of people know that this album even exists.
the average views for this album is about 18K views which is nothing really, so sad. great song!
What does this guy know about hard times? And looks a bit like homer simpson here
Not a flattering photo of Mr. Clapton. He looks like his dog just died.
@GunnM21
music culture and politics....are all one my friend....
we are in hard times...why are we talking birth control?
Yes, i can spell......
@GunnM21 Can you spell??
Much prefer the beautiful original version by Lane Hardin..this is just a souless kareeoke rendition by Clapton. Wish he would leave these old songs alone.
President Pantload! Where are the jobs? China? India? Brazil?
Very different from classic Clapton but one of my favorite albums
Top Line..
Fukc the politics............this is MUSIC !!!
@DannyWilsonsLaundry: I'd say it goes out to every politician who doesn't give a rat's ass about the people they represent. Obama would be included in that group.
@DannyWilsonsLaundry: I do agree with you on your last couple of statements, The $ is completely doomed (although I think all that talk about the Amero is BS). Also, no politician will fix this because they're not there to defend us common folk. All they care about is remaining in power and helping those people who help them get to power. There are many things Ron Paul says, but I think he might be one of the very few who actually care about "we the people." There are a couple of others.
@DannyWilsonsLaundry: I'm saying both parties are guilty and I pointed to a FACT: the Reps ran on a jobs platform in 2010. If you're denying those facts (no ideology there) you're certifiably a 5150.
I love this tune.
@DannyWilsonsLaundry: And the Republicans too. Remember they ran on a "jobs" platform in 2010 and once they sat down in congress all they wanted to talk about was the deficit.
@Garret00074: "And I went to the factory this mornin' where I had worked ten years ago
And the bossman told me that they ain't hirin' in here no more"
I love this album...
and this song goes out to the GD baggers who are killing this country ....Where are the jobs, Boehner?????
how could this song have only 15 000 views ? :O
EC plays mandolin on this one. My fav. song so far
So reminiscent of the classic Sleepy John Estes tracks of the late 20's...
Great singing and playing by EC. I love it. Thank you for sharing. Nadine
another great performance from the master :-)
Way to go Clapton paying tribute to Josh White! I already had respect for you but man... That just tops it! :D Also Clapton's cover is amazing!
