As a person of colour myself (it pains me that I have to say this to be taken seriously), it scares me how the Democrats have turned. Identity politics is what started this mess it certainly won't fix it. Donald Trump may be our enemy but it is the enemy within that gets us all in the end. On the level of politics, we are not black people, we are not white people, we are not women, we are not men, we are poeple. And I mean that in the most fundamental sense of the word. We are individuals. Each with our own values, opinions, and characters. Sure, we are members of socio-cultural groups, we are, we have to be or we will be lost. But that does not mean every black person is a victim, nor does it mean that every white person is an oppressor. The solution to racism is friendship (not anti-white sentiment), the solution to workplace discrimination is free choice (not saying all women are ambitious career oriented types - that's patently untrue and frankly discriminatory towards those who choose to be different). We cannot meet inequality with more inequality. We must truly strive to protect the individual's rights - for the individual is the ultimate minority.

Be the change. That's does not mean going out there and protesting, forcing other people to change. No. Be the change. Change yourself first. Be an example, a role-model. If every person changes himself or herself, only then will the world change. Change is never top down, its always bottom up.
