I could listen to the Self Titled and I Say I Say I Say album, and nothing else, forever.. and be totally okay with that. I love everything they do pretty much, but that is my fave time period.
The follow up is NOT the album produced by FrankMusik, it was an album called "Light At The End Of The World", which you might want to check out because it is classic Erasure.
@Adam Grossman I actually like that album pretty well. Fun short pop tunes. I prefer that form on "Cowboy", I think the song were more solid, but I still regard Light at "The End of the World" as a fab album, for sure.
Like many others... Chorus (second to none), I say I say I say (I loved both almost immediately), Erasure (some songs took time) and then... Nightbird.

@Adam Lewis Yes, _Light at the End of the World_ was the followup to _Nightbird_ (if we skip _Union Street_ as a special project rather than a regular album), and they're both fantastic. What's kind of shocking is that they were both made with software synths since Vince's studio and collection of hardware synths wasn't easily accessible to him at the time, but they still sound like classic Erasure. Well, I can hear a certain general, fundamental difference and agree with Vince's preference for his hardware synths, but they don't sound bad at all in this regard (or any other).
_Light at the End of the World_ was produced by Gareth Jones (who should be familiar to Erasure/Mute/Depeche Mode fans), but _Nightbird_ was actually self-produced by Vince and Andy, demonstrating how good the band themselves are at every step of the process of making music (Vince undoubtedly was the music and overall producer, with Andy producing his own vocals).
