Erasure - Looking Glass Sea Lyrics

Sweetheart, say you love me
I'll fly you too the moon
The choir of stars above me
Will sing out a heavenly tune
A rhythm divine if you're so inclined
The perfect melody

We'll go down to the water
And sail on a looking glass sea

Sweetheart, be my honey
A lily a la lune
The fire flies above me
A will of the whisp
A lovely perfume
A vision in white
A flame in the night
In perfect harmony

We'll go down to the water
And sail on a looking glass sea

Throw out the rope and cast adrift
See where the midnight hour takes us
Be the captain of my ship
And hoist the anchor with a kiss

Sweetheart, say you love me
I'll fly you too the moon
The choir of stars above me
Will sing out a heavenly tune
A rythm divine if you're so inclined
The perfect melody

We'll go down to the water
Down to the water
And sail on a looking glass sea

    Sweetheart, say you love me
I'll fly you to the moon
The choir of stars above me
Will sing out a favorite tune
A rhythm divine if you're so inclined
    The perfect melody

We'll go down to the water
And sail on a looking glass sea (c)

    Sweetheart, be my honey
A Lily a la lune (Liz)
    The fire flies above me
Oh will o'the wisp, a lovely perfume
A vision in white, a flame in the night
    In perfect harmony

We'll go down to the water
And sail on a looking glass sea

Throw out the rope and cast a drift
See where the midnight tide takes us
Be the captain of my ship
And hoist the anchor with a kiss

    Sweetheart, say you love me
I'll fly you to the moon
The choir of stars above me
Will sing out a favorite tune
A rhythm divine if you're so inclined
    The perfect melody

We'll go down to the water
Down to the water, and sail on a looking glass sea

    Loved it!

  5. L.... B....

This was on the album songs inspired and from the movie. So wasn't in the film. Obviously before Madonna did the dirty on erasure and tried to bury their career...

    L.... B....

    It WAS in the film.

    L.... B....

    Madonna's I'm Breathless was a great disc

    L.... B....

Laura Bailey oh come on! MADONNA did no such thing to bury Erasure. Sheesh lol

  6. N.... L....

Have been trying to find this song on Youtube for years.

Thank you for posting. Brings back memories.

If I recall the scene where they are setting up Dick Tracy towards the end of the film, when a fake DT runs up the stairs into to the apartment it's being played on the radio in the background

  8. n.... w....

    Such a beautiful melodic song

    n.... w....

All the big band songs on (Featured songs of) Dick Tracy and Madonna's I'm Breathless, were beautiful.

One my top fav movies & still didn't knw they sung his.

  10. P.... B....

Does anybody know where I can get the sheet music to this song?

    P.... B....

sometimes, if you are lucky, you can find the Dick Tracy Music Book (song tracks like this, Rompin, Stompin, Blue Nights, etc) on eBay,

  11. R.... ....

oh forgot about Live Alone nd Like it....don't know who sang that one though.

  12. R.... ....

Its just that the only song I remember hearing over the radio in any scene in the movie was I'm Following you by Mel Torme (still haven't found any version of that online yet). I still don't remember this anywhere from the flick.

  13. R.... ....

Where was this song from the movie? I don't recall this anywhere in the film. Was it in a deleted scene? A background piece that was playing about 3 notches below dialogue level? I would say end credits music but Madonna was singing 'More' over the end credits....
