Ensiferum - Two Paths Lyrics

I have been an Ensiferum fan since the day I discovered them, opening for Children of Bodom, in Paris (2009 I believe). I have all their albums, and listened to them frequently for the past few years.
Yet, I just came accross this video and realised I had completely forgotten this album existed. I can agree with some other comments saying how forgettable it is. I listened to it upon its release and forgot everything about it. Sure, riffs are all good, but none of them are great nor memorable. Sad when you look back at Ensiferum's greatest tunes.

Wasnt sure when I first listened. After 3 or 4 more listens though, album has proved to be a real grower. Not 100% sold on the accordion, but I can live with it. 🙂. Anyway, the alternative is no Ensiferum. I know which I prefer. 😎

First two albums were amazing, victory songs was good, everything else is trash.

Definitely better than the last two albums, a bit more reminiscent of the golden age of Ensiferum. Not bad.

Dunno what people are saying, this album is great and at least half of it feels closer to the older stuff than the previous two, the newer tracks are pleasant to listen to, although I understand why some old fans could be alienated a bit.

The first song is a brilliant opus about fighting for metal, half way in and the res of the album is folk pop.

It is good album. But we saw before better than this album. I hope they can turn the back soul of them music. My best music group.

I agree with you, but so do they; they have always had a keyboardist, in the shows too. but lately they have decided to be only the 4 guys and use samples live... actually they have this whole reflection about how they made this cd analogue to feel like they are playing live

My wife and I both love Ensiferum and Wintersun! We just saw Wintersun a couple of months ago and it was amazing! We will see Ensiferum with Septic Flesh tomorrow night (Jan21/2019) here in Phoenix Arizona. We both play Lord of the Rings online MMORPG and this is perfect to game to! Epic Music!!! You can criticize the band without "being automatically labelled as cancer". For me, Ensiferum was my fav band (now sabaton shifted them, and alestorm not too far behind). They went downhill since unsung heroes, becoming way softer, losing their identity, really similar to in flames and avenged. I really hope they are just "trying new things" but im afraid they are trying to become more mainstream. I really disliked this album, (OMA was soso, Unsung heroes was decent) but its far from their first 4 albums.

To all those who still cry about "why they are not the same as they here 10 years ago". Things change..and Ensif changed it for good!! Its not easy to go on like that if important Members leave! And to be honest. Ask urself, as fans, as metalheads. Why u listen to music like this? Is it because ur kinda of a fanboy..or is it cuz u feel ur warriors heart inside ur chest? Cuz if u listen to this album, listen to the lyrics, and u dont feel it, the power, the truth, the call....the answer is way to obvious..!!

I saw these guys in Sydney, and I can only imagine or hope that Markus Toivonen has inproved his shity demenour. Maybe it was the fact we are so far from Europe?? Anyway this is a cool album.

This album is so great! I'm not sure why people aren't giving a fair chance. This album still has the ensiferum magic to me. For those who fight for this album, Gods of war salute you all!

It's taken time for me to warm to this album, but it's actually great! Another killer from Ensiferum, with some different stuff than usual. Up there with From Afar and One Man army.

Unpopular opinion: Netta was a very unnecessary addition to the group, her pedigree notwithstanding. For an act that bases most of its material off orchestration and keys, they didn't need to bring in a flaky accordionist who doesn't know what she wants out of life. Only served to hold them back a bit. Plus her honking was a distraction.

I am elated in highest degree. This new album is, for my opinion, the best, Ensiferum has ever delivered.
Wonderful pagan sound, which ist, simply expressed, outstanding !!!!! There is no better way, to listen finnish
metal sound from the endless scandinavian landscapes and woods....

As with the previous album, I was a bit sceptical at first but now I am totally convinced!

Ensiferum keeps on gaining, i so love the melody in this band and the songs. I discovered them by accident ;) normally im into eurodance and base, but this got my attention. keep on rocking.

That´s boring. Man, I loved this band, but I think, they are not creative. Eyery song sounds like every song before.

The only track that sounds like real Ensiferum here at least to a degree is King of Storms.

I don't know why they continue on this "back to basics" path, studio is for studio material and lives are lives. These songs sound good live but that's just about it, I won't be replaying this like mad like I did with everything up to From Afar. Which I consider to be the best Ensiferum album hands down.
