Eno claims many of his songs have no real meaning like Third Uncle. But I think they do have meaning...this one is about alchemy.

Think...all the nonsense music being made when this came out. Genius

A very great musician , virtuous but also essential
when needed, and a great composer, a genius for that time, an innovator. AND a genius as producer and sound engineer: just to mention only two of his numerous collaborations is enough to say that he was with Bowie in the Berlin Trilogy and with the Talking Heads in their best period. The rivalry in the seventies between Eno and Rick Wakeman is legendary and obviously with spectacular results.

They probably like recording artists that are easily forgotten in three to six years. You know, the ones that only record music cranked out by known hit making producers and have all the life in their voices sucked out via auto-tune.
