shame they turned the back on the "music for the people". I can understand a band transitioning but I thought this stuff was the heart and soul of the enemy, the new album just doesn't sit right with me. It feels like they've tried to go down the route of the Arctic monkeys, but having climbed over the trench got lost in no man's land.

Its the paradox of success. Can't sing about poverty when you're doing alright... So they have to sing about other stuff that matters, and thats OK, as long as its still honest. Still an awesomely talented band, haven't heard a crap song yet.

The empire they refer to is their towns industrial empire that powered towns like theirs once upon a time, now towns like theirs and mine are dying out there's nothing in them, no hope, no nothing, my town is the birthplace of Pilkingtons and Beecham's aswell as a coal mining heartland, now there's nothing our little business empires that kept this wee town and it's townfolk im decent paying work, not like the zero hour crap its riddled with now. So again absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the BNP, jist a bunch of small town lads pissed off at the fact their town along many others have been left to rot for decades and now politicians and health professionals are falling over themselves trying to figure out why these shitty towns have such high suicide rates... it's not difficult to understand why maybe if people like yourself and the Westminster croonies spent a fair bit of time in one of said shitty towns, spoke to the people then judged them, maybe just maybe shitty little towns like mine might just get the TLC they so desperately need.
