Enemy, The - Silver Spoon Lyrics
I never had a silver spoon
To help me orchestrate this tune
Look at us the same as you
And there's nothing anyone can't do
Don't matter if it's out of tune
Sing it to the bar
I've got my green guitar
But i never had a silver spoon
You and me and me and yo
Whish is whish and who is who?
Underneath we're all the same
We're flesh and blood and viens
And there's nothing that we can't do
So sing it from the back of the room
Don't matter if it's out of tune
Sing it to the bar
I've got my green guitar
But i never had a silver spoon
I never had a sliver spoon
So sing it from the back of the room
Don't matter if it's out of tune
Sing it to the bar
I've got my green guitar
But i never had a silver spoon
They cried from the gallery, From the back of the room
The people in the cheap seats didn't have the clearest view
But they all cried when the music died and the house lights turned on blue
And the man said good night ladies and gent's the only way he knew
The policeman standing by the door had to turn and dry his eye
A little girl sighed for the very first time like an angel in disguise
The band packed up their instruments and hurried off to the bar
Singing good night ladies and gent's on an old 6 string guitar
So good night ladies and gentlemen, we hope to see you soon, we sing this song as we roll along and we'll try and stay in tune
But if our voices should break up or if our strings should snap, we'll fix up in the morning and tomorrow we'll be back

Enemy, The Silver Spoon Comments
Is it just me, or does this sound like a song Kula Shaker never did? I swear it has the KS sound! (Not that that's a bad thing!)
Wrong. Just wrong.
Shut up you bellend
Mate you really need to learn to spell! But yes, The Enemy are amazing!
Hey...good day from Quebec city. No matter what, I just love this song, 'specialy those great harmonies. Calm down and enjoy. Peace and Love!!!
"Music For The Peple?"
More like Music For The Teen Brats
@IstickThingsUpMyBum hey douche. paulybigtime didnt say a thing about them "covering" the jam or any other band. there influenced by them. but there are no covers on this album dumbass.
Mike Giannotti Their "Jam" influence is more heard on their first album, but only on some songs :)
Mike Giannotti Mostly the title track, and 40 Days 40 Nights. Had Enough too I guess, cos of the bassline, but David Watts was originally by The Kinks :D
Rip off of The Who but still a good band just need to find a bit of originality letting them selves be influenced too much nearly everysong on this album sounds like one by some other legendary band
Billy Thomas Not Be Somebody, that sounds like their 1st album, which was all original, a sound they returned to with their 3rd album, Streets In The Sky
Billy Thomas They experimented with this one. Some of the songs are great, but apart from Elephant Song, No Time For Tears, and Be Somebody, this album was nothing special. Some other good songs like this one, Silver Spoon, and also Keep Losing and Nation of Checkout Girls, but not a patch on the tunes from We'll Live And Die In These Towns (Keep Losing is really good though, and different for TE)
album is good
not as good as there 1st tbf
but at the end of the day they are a good band
but they are like marmite
u either luv em or u hate em
i luve em
Joel Farrelly That Marmite motif is exactly what I thought about them. I hate Marmite, but I love The Enemy :)
Lmao, that would of been the better solution
or you could have kept the £10 and downloaded both albums for free. wrong choice i think
Bloody great album
*you don't have a fucking clue what you're on about :)
and i really do :)
listening to this is like committing ear suicide
not my kind of thing at all...
